Despite all the autumn hustle, we managed to squeeze in a weekend at the Siberian Husky Dog Show in Oivanki, Kuusamo, organized by Suomalainen Siperianhusky Seura. And what a weekend it was! 🐾

With almost 300 siberian huskies entered, the atmosphere was amazing: so many beautiful dogs and, of course, plenty of familiar faces of other husky people ❤️

From "team Erä-Susi" our wonderful first-timers Pate and Laura (5.5 months old) stepped into the show ring for the very first time. Our goal was to give them a positive and enjoyable experience, and they really got that! Both were confident, happy and wonderfully friendly with everyone they met. Pate went on to place 2nd in the Puppy class, and Laura received a great feedback too. We couldn’t be happier with these two! 🥰

Our adult team consisted of siblings Pyry, Nietos, Halla and Routa, and all four received "Very Good" grade. The boys behaved like professionals, while our slightly more energetic girls still have a little more practice to do when it comes to moving nicely and calmly in the ring.

To our happy surprise, our Loska's (Cuccuu Hulilupteri) offspring group placed 3rd! 🎉 A huge thank you to Maija, Taru and Suvi for helping us present the dogs in the offspring and breeder class. We truly appreciate your help!

What a great weekend, and what a well-organized event, thank you to Oivanki and Suomalainen Siperianhusky Seura! Now it’s time to turn our attention towards autumn training!

Time really does fly… can you believe July is already over? ☀️ Soon we'll be welcoming the beautiful autumn season. But not yet, summer still continue!

Our dogs have had a wonderful summer filled with everything they love most: running freely with their friends, carousel training on the cooler days and plenty of quality time together. Keeping our working huskies physically active and mentally stimulated is an essential part of their wellbeing, and watching them enjoy every moment is the best part ❤️

We've also had the pleasure of welcoming so many lovely visitors to our kennel visits and husky hiking experiences this summer: thank you to everyone who has shared these special moments with us!

Summer is also our busiest time for kennel projects. While the dogs enjoy the off-season, we've been busy improving the kennel by building a new trail, replacing kennel panels, upgrading the free-running areas and working on many other projects to get everything ready for the upcoming winter season. But let's tell about that more a bit later when everything is done!

Good news: our summer activities continue throughout August! If you'd like to meet our happy, well-cared working sled dogs, learn about their daily lives, and spend time with the pack, we would love to welcome you here.

Summer greetings from our siberian husky puppies!☀️

Their summer has been full of adventures, learning new things, and exploring the world around them.

Every day includes walks in the forest and time in running area. Exploring the forest is an excellent way for puppies to burn off energy while developing their coordination, balance, and muscle strength. Moving over uneven terrain provides valuable physical exercise and supports healthy growth.

Puppies also have many adult dog friends who participate their daily exercise and are wonderful role models for them. They help teach the puppies important social skills and show them how to behave in different situations ❤️

There is one thing the puppies all agree on: food is the best! 😋 Mealtime has also been a great opportunity to practice good manners. Before their bowls are served, they have to wait and sit calmly. Excitement and jumping won't make dinner arrive any faster, but good manners will!

☀️🐾 SUMMER PROGRAMS 2026 🐾☀️

Starting next week, our weekly summer activities will begin, and we warmly welcome everyone to participate to our summer activities.

During our kennel visit, you'll meet our happy dogs, learn about their daily lives, and hear from our guides about what life is like for working sled dogs throughout the year. You'll also gain insight into responsible sled dog tourism and discover for example what we do with our dogs outside the winter season.

If you're looking for an active outdoor experience, join us on a husky hike! You'll get to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Ruka together with your four-legged hiking buddy. 🐾

Here is Rex, our super eager and energetic boy 💙

Rex was running in Mervi's team at the Kuusamo MD competition, where he injured his front leg on the first day on the really challenging trail, he hit his leg on an ice floe while crossing a water obstacle. As a result, Rex had to stay home and rest on the second competition day.

His leg was very sore, so we took him for X-rays at the Eläinlääkäriasema Onni Thankfully, there were no fractures and his bones looked good ✨ Rex has now received three laser therapy sessions and is slowly getting back to light activity, easy walks on leash and short moments of free running. This is life with dogs, sometimes things happen, but we’re grateful he’s on the road to recovery.

Is there anything sweeter than little puppies? 🥰 They had their first short adventure outside into the warm sunshine today. Spring is moving along quickly, but we still found a small snowdrift for a group photo at 3 weeks old ☀️

✨ Thank You for the 2025-2026 Season ✨

Another incredible winter season has come to an end, and what a season it has been! We had an absolutely amazing team, where both humans and dogs gave their all every day 🥰 Our dogs worked with outstanding motivation throughout the winter, and it has been a true joy to watch their happines on every run.

Even though the late-season weather conditions were far from easy, we faced challenges together and successfully carried the season through to the end 💪

We are especially proud of our young dogs: summer 2024 youngsters, 10 pure siberian youths and 7 “energy drink” pups got to work their very first season. And what a job they did! The entire young team was absolutely excellent, and over the course of the season we could clearly see their mental growth. By the end, most of them were already working confidently in leading as well.

Of course we are proud of each and every one of our dogs, the superheroes who stayed healthy, happy and full of energy all the way ❤️

A huge thank you to all our customers, subcontractors, partners, and everyone who has been part of making this winter season so special. We truly couldn’t do this without you.

Now we turn our focus towards summer, well-deserved rest, and fun summer activities for our dogs ☀️🐾

✨ Kiitos kaudesta 2025-2026 ✨

Upea talvikausi on jälleen tullut päätökseensä, ja mikä kausi se olikaan! Meillä oli aivan mahtava tiimi, jossa sekä ihmiset että koirat puhalsivat hienosti yhteen hiileen koko sesongin ajan, ja se kyllä näkyi! Naurua ja huumoria ei tästä porukasta puuttunut 🥰Koiramme työskentelivät koko talven ajan erinomaisella motivaatiolla, ja oli todellinen ilo nähdä niiden innokkuus ja onnellisuus aina kun oltiin lähdössä hommiin.

Vaikka loppukauden sääolosuhteet olivat kaikkea muuta kuin helpot kevään tullessa kovin aikaiseen, niin saimme vietyä kauden oikein onnistuneesti loppuun 💪

Olemme erityisen ylpeitä nuorista koiristamme: kesän 2024 pennuista, eli 10 puhtaasta siperianhusky nuorukaisesta ja 7 “energiajuoma" vauhtihirmusta, jotka pääsivät työskentelemään ensimmäisen kautensa. Ja miten hienosti he suoriutuivatkaan! Koko nuorukaisten tiimi oli aivan loistava, ja kauden aikana näimme selvästi niiden henkisen kasvun ja kehityksen. Kauden lopussa suurin osa työskenteli jo itsevarmasti myös johtajan paikalla safareilla, ja Pyry ja Tuisku pääsivät käymään ensimmäisissä kisoissaankin.

Olemme tietenkin ylpeitä jokaisesta koirastamme: meidän supersankareista, jotka pysyivät terveinä, iloisina ja energisinä koko kauden ajan ❤️

Lämmin kiitos kaikille asiakkaillemme, alihankkijoillemme, yhteistyökumppaneillemme sekä kaikille, jotka olitte mukana tekemässä tästä talvikaudesta niin erityisen 🥰

Nyt suuntaamme katseet kohti kesää, ansaittua lepoa, ja kunhan lumet vielä hieman sulaa niin päästään koirien kesäaktiviteettien kuten karuselli treenien pariin ☀️🐾

Kiitos ja nähdään taas ensi talvena!

Last weekend we competed in the Kuusamo MD race 🐾

Our kennel was proudly represented by three teams!

✨ Mervi in the MD12 class with Tinja, Run, Skigo, Vauhti, Titan, Inzer, Toko, Start, Rex and Elektra.
Mervi won a bronze medal at the Finnish Championships 🥉💪

✨ Edoardo in the MD6 class with Rocket, Gold, Bella, Shrek, Ruuti and Pommi.
Edo finished in fifth place, a fantastic performance in his very first race 🔥

✨ Anni in the MD4 class with a pure Siberian Husky team: Iceman, Hulk, Pyry and Tuisku.
Anni’s team placed second among Siberian Huskies, and the dogs achieved REK1 results!
Tuisku and Pyry are only 18 months old, and this was their first race, what an incredible job they did 🥰

A big thank you also to our super handler Joanna and the whole Erä-Susi team 🤩

Huge thanks to Ollilan Lomamajat, Carelian Eastpoint, and all the volunteers who made this race possible despite the challenging snow and weather conditions!
