From Australia to Åland 🌍🇦🇽

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming a lovely family from Australia and showing them the beauty of Åland. Together we explored the islands, local history, beautiful landscapes, and peaceful atmosphere that make Åland so special.

Their journey also included a private tour to the beautiful Kobba Klintar — one of Åland’s hidden gems surrounded by the sea and maritime history ⚓✨

Yesterday, Åland Tours had the joy of welcoming a lovely couple from the UK to explore Åland’s unique charm—even during the quiet season. While November might mean fewer open doors, it also offers a deeper, more intimate look at the island’s rich history and serene landscapes.

Their wish list included a visit to the historic Kastelholm, and although the castle was officially closed, their private guide brought it to life with stories that made history feel close and alive. Together with their guide, the couple heard stories from Åland’s history and enjoyed the peaceful beauty of nature.

🇦🇽After 7 years on beautiful Åland islands, the time has come for a new adventure... 🌍❤️

This Friday, we’ll be making the big move to the mainland and starting a new chapter in the North of Finland, Nykarleby ✨. While I won't be guiding at Åland Tours anymore, the good news is that Åland Tours will stay here on Åland and continue offering amazing experiences.

With a mix of excitement and sadness, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who’s been part of this journey with me, whether you joined a tour, followed my adventures, or simply showed your support 🙏. It has meant the world to me!✨

Do you like mushrooms? 🍄‍🟫 I do, so we went on a lovely mushroom-picking adventure in the woods! 🍂 Firstly, it’s such a peaceful and rewarding way to connect with nature. Secondly, if you’re lucky, you might just find some delicious mushrooms to add to your next meal! But be careful – not all mushrooms are edible 🍄so pick wisely! There’s plenty of forest on Åland, and now is the perfect time to head out and enjoy this seasonal treasure hunt. Who knows, your next meal could be a fresh and tasty reward straight from the wild! 🍄‍🟫😋

Discovering Åland with Chen 🇦🇽☀️🇦🇽

I had the absolute pleasure of guiding Chen, who traveled all the way from China to explore the beautiful Åland Islands!

Chen was full of curiosity and eager to see everything during his 3-day stay. I was excited to show him around and make sure he experienced all the best spots on his list. We spent the whole day driving around, stopping often for Chen to snap photos of everything that caught his eye. I tailored the tour just for him, making it a perfect adventure.

During our trip, we tried the famous Åland pancake—it’s a must when you visit Åland! Chen loved it so much he finished his piece in no time. On his last day, we visited the stunning Kobba Klintar, and he was absolutely enchanted by it.

Chen told me that Åland was beautiful and that he wants to return someday. Hearing that made me so happy—it’s amazing to know that our small island offers so much beauty and peace, especially cherished by visitors from big cities. Seeing the joy and wonder on Chen’s face reminded me of how special Åland is, and I can’t wait to share its magic with more visitors! 🌟🥰

🐎✨ What better way to discover Åland than on horseback? This summer, Marika had a wonderful time on a riding tour she booked through Åland Tours!

Her lovely host, Åland by Henna made sure Marika had a unique and authentic Western riding adventure. Henna-Mari tailored the tour to Marika’s pace and preferences, making the ride as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Marika rode to a charming farm and enjoyed a delicious lunch made from the farm’s own produce and local ingredients. Combining the joy of riding with the pleasure of local culinary delights, Marika had an unforgettable experience on her riding tour.

Last week, Viking cruise docked in Mariehamn with lots of guests from the States. I had the pleasure of meeting a lovely couple from Ohio and taking them on an adventure around Åland. They wanted to see an apple orchard, visit Kastelholm, explore Jan Karlsgården, taste local food, and enjoy a gentle walk on a forest trail.

We kicked off our tour with a visit to a charming apple farm where they learned the history of the farm, tasted fresh apple juice, and met the wonderful farmers, Jan and Anna. They absolutely loved it and said it was beyond their expectations. After the apple farm, we enjoyed some delicious local dishes at Stallhagen, and then made our way to Kastelholm and the open-air museum. The day flew by, and soon it was time for them to return to their ship.

Later, they sent me a lovely message saying they talked all through dinner about what a special, wonderful day it was. They mentioned that this day was more special than I could know.✨🙏
