Hawk Owl in Oulu, Finland. There are plenty of Hawk Owls at the moment in Oulu region.

We have many Hawk Owls in Oulu region at the moment. Yesterday I found 14th and it was co-operative from the very beginning. So now we have two "working" Hawk Owls in this region. There must be more... Olympus Suomi Finnature Kaisa Korhonen Photography

Hawk Owls are often nesting in old tree holes made by Black Woodpecker. This summer we will have many Owls breeding in Oulu & Kuusamo areas in Finland, such as Tengmalm's, Ural, Pygmy, Great Grey and Hawk Owls. This winter we have many Hawk Owls in Oulu region. This individual was photographed last Sunday with two of our guests. We photographed two Hawk Owls and did some birding. Great Grey Shrike, Nutcrackers and a Siberian Tit were among the species we saw together.

Hello owl fans! After the busy guiding season is now over, it's time to go through some pictures. The favourite owl for many of our customers was this Pygmy Owl. During the evenings it was possible to get photos of it with a nice dark background.
