Our river puppies are turning 1 year old today!! 🐾

Many of you will especially remember San and Ternuu from your visits to the kennel: the two little rascals who were always first in line for treats and never short on energy. 🐺 Today, they’re celebrating alongside their siblings Nikita, Elbe, Leah, Molly, Nida, and Ina!

They haven’t changed much… just a bit taller, a little stronger, and even more eager to run. 💨

They’re all doing really well and already getting excited for sledding season. ❄️

Brushing out the last bits of winter fluff 🐺 and giving some belly rubs 🤩

Siberian Huskies have a double coat built to handle extreme Arctic climates. The outer coat is made up of long, water-resistant guard hairs that protect against moisture, snow, and rain. Beneath that lies a dense undercoat that traps air to insulate them from the harsh cold. As temperatures rise, huskies shed large amounts of this undercoat to help regulate their body temperature. Their double coat not only keeps them warm in winter, but also helps shield them from overheating, sunburn, and insect bites during the Arctic summer. Pretty cool!
