A husky puppy opens its eyes around day twelve. It hears the kennel for the first time at about three weeks. By then, the only thing it has ever wanted is already written into it.

We spend a lot of time telling people what a husky safari feels like, and almost none telling them what a husky actually is.

🌌Aurora season in Rovaniemi start from late August to early April.

That’s the real calendar. It’s not that auroras “show up” in August and “leave” in April — they happen all year. What changes is the sky: from May to July the sun never drops low enough and the light swallows them.

The numbers here:
📍 Rovaniemi sits at 66.6° magnetic latitude, right under the auroral oval
🌌 Around 150 nights a year with visible activity
⚡ A Kp index of just 2–3 is enough, away from city lights
🕘 The good window: 9 PM to 2 AM

Best months? September–October and February–March. The equinoxes are statistically the clearest and deliver the most sightings per outing.
