Reaching the shores of Kotisaari, you will step into the world of this tiny river island full of history. Experience the warmth of the open fire under the midnight sun, surrounded by tranquil nature, on an island forgotten by time. Prepare midnight sun snacks with the help of your guide and get to know the importance of our clean nature filled with all kinds of superfood. If you are already confident with winter trails and would like to explore the Lappish nature by yourself, we provide rental equipment in Rovaniemi such as:
✔️snowshoes
✔️forest skis (Altai skis)
✔️ e-fat bikes
❌Please kindly note, that we do not rent snowmobiles and offer only guided tours!
You can make a booking online on our web page, or just come and rent directly from our Rovaniemi office in the city centre, during its opening hours (8:00 - 18:00)

Today the duration of the dark and the light hours the same, this is known as spring equinox. The day is going to be longer, than night and will continue growing until Midsummer. Because of this, there is no Aurora Borealis tours available in April, as the northern lights can't usually be seen when it's not dark.

What is the difference between snowshoes and forest skis?
Snowshoes are already quite popular among travelers to Lapland, however in comparison quite few people know about forest skis. Forest skis are a middle ground between snowshoes and cross-country skis and they perfect tools for exploring the nature in deep untouched snow. Using forests skis does not require any earlier experience or special skills. You are more stable on the forest skis and can go faster (slide) in the snow in comparison with snowshoes. Forest skis let you make longer distance hikes. We offer guided tours by forest skis and they are available also as rental equipment.😉
