This EVENING UNDER THE MIDNIGHT SUN trip takes you on a forest hike to a nearby fell. The journey is gentle, but exhilarating. Even though it is “night-time” the natural world is not asleep, and it is not uncommon to come across a herd of reindeer or birds like the Siberian jay or a willow grouse. On this MIDNIGHT SUN SAUNA TRIP TO A WILDERNESS CABIN once you reach the forest lake, you will be seated in a small motorboat to cross the picturesque, crystal-clear lake to a wilderness cabin. Here you can spend a relaxing evening under the midnight sun, heating the wood-heated sauna, collecting fresh natural spring water and preparing crepes on an open fire while listening to fascinating stories of Lappish nature. Your guide will introduce you to the peace and tranquility of fishing on the pure clean lake, and you will have the chance to participate in one of Finland’s most traditional pastimes – the Finnish Sauna! Visiting huskies on their summer holidays is a great way to get to know these enthusiastic Arctic animals! 🐶✨

Upon arrival to the husky kennel, you will be welcomed by eager and friendly barking, as these dogs are keen to get to know you! Your guide will share their knowledge of the life of the sled dogs. During the EXCURSION TO THE HUSKY KENNEL, you will have a chance to grill sausages and enjoy a drink around the campfire. After the visit, it is time to say goodbye to the furry friends for now.

The season of Midnight Sun, also known as Polar Day, has started here in Levi area! 🌞

The Midnight Sun is a natural phenomenom that occurs in the summer months in places north of the Arctic Circle. For example here in Lapland, the sun does not set at all from the end of May until the middle of July, while further south the sun can be visible for nearly around the clock during June and July. When nights are almost as light as day, it is possible to do all the same things that you would do normally during the day. The greatest difference comes from the incredible change in the nature of the light. The sun takes on a reddish-yellow colour – almost like during sunrise or sunset – and everything around you is bathed in an unimaginably warm, bright light.

A nocturnal swim and sauna are a definite must under the Midnight Sun! 🌊

Let us take you to the SCENIC E-BIKE TRIP IN LEVI, where you will hear fascinating stories about life in Lapland and the nature around you, while enjoying a relaxing e-biking trip to some of the prettiest spots of Levi. Your local guide will choose the best spot for a break where you will be served a cup of berry juice. E-fatbikes are bicycles with extra wide tyres, making riding easier and more ecological in the forest and on soft trails. Even though e-fatbikes look sturdy, they are great fun to ride and surprisingly agile, giving you a feeling of floating even on rugged terrain.

Happy May Day to all our followers! 🤩🎉🎈
May the 1st is widely celebrated day also in Finland. The day is known as the Labor day, but in Finland it is also a big celebration of spring.

On the countryside the 1st of May has usually meant that the cattle was released to pasture after winter. On the other hand, in the cities May Day, or like we call it in Finland "Vappu" is the day when all students and graduates gather around the cities for picnics and celebration of beginning of spring and summer.
Traditional Vappu treats in Finland are "sima" and "tippaleipä". Sima you can make for example at home, but it is also sold on many supermarkets around this time of year. It is a drink based on honeywine that has been made for centuries in Finland. If you make sima at home it's a must to add raisins in the drink as well! Tippaleipä is a sweet pastry which is deep fried and coated in powdered sugar.

Here are some fun facts about Levi, that we bet you didn't know before! 😉🫵🏼

❄️ Levi is actually just a name of the fell, that is located in the village of Sirkka! Sirkka, on the other hand, is a small village in the municipality of Kittilä. Sirkka literally means a cricket in Finnish. 🦗
❄️ The Levi fell is 530,3 metres (1,742 feet) above the sea level! In the ski resort of Levi, there are 43 ski slopes (17 of which are floodlit) and 27 ski lifts. ⛷️
❄️ There are only 890 residents living in the village of Sirkka all year around! That is quite a tiny amount of people compared to over 600 000 international travellers that Levi has each year, most of them during the winter season.📍
❄️ Almost every Finnish home has a sauna!
Finns have mainly three different types of saunas. One of them is a sauna heated with an electric sauna stove, that you see in most houses these days. Second is a traditional wooden heated sauna, which gives you the most gentle and moist "löyly". The Finnish word "löyly" is the name for the evaporating hot steam that rises from "kiuas" stoves after water has been carefully thrown on top of them. And third a bit more rare, but definitely very popular among Finns, is the dark smoke sauna. There also might be two different saunas in one household, one inside the house and one outside in the yard, next to a lake or a river to enjoy some fresh dips in the middle of bathing. And yes, Finnish people traditionally have sauna in their birthday suits, so don't be afraid if you see a half-naked Finn somewhere outside just cooling off the heat! 💦
