After welcoming families to Lapland for many years, we have noticed one thing: choosing activities for the whole family is often more complicated than it seems.

Adults want to experience Lapland, while children want to be part of the adventure. They want to explore on their own, follow tracks in the snow, discover hidden corners and, preferably, ask at least three unexpected questions along the way😏

That is why family activities work best when children are not just passengers following the adults‘ plan, but active participants in the experience.

Give a child their own mini snowmobile and suddenly they are convinced they can drive anything.

Send them to discower the snow maze at Snow Igloo Park and the usual „What’s next?“ questions suddenly disappear.

Hand them a gingerbread to decorate and they will proudly carry it around as if it belongs in a museum.

And if Santa🎅🏻 is involved, there is a very good chance the conversation will include at least one tricky question no adult saw coming😉

Here are a few things to consider before booking your trip.

Levi is a great choice for skiing, outdoor activities and a cosy winter holiday atmosphere.
Rovaniemi combines Arctic experiences with Santa Claus Village and convenient city services.

People often ask why Snow Igloo Park opens only later in winter 🧐

The reason is simple. The entire park is built from scratch in Levi every winter and depends completely on freezing temperatures.

The process starts with snowmaking. Using professional snowmaking equipment, our experienced snow-building team produces snow, then grinds, mixes and dries it to create the perfect building material. Once the snow is ready, construction begins. Giant molds are built, walls take shape, huge snow blocks are cut and moved into place, caves and tunnels are dug out, archways are carved, and ice blocks become bar counters and decorative features🧊🧊🧊

This combination of professional equipment and skilled craftsmanship is what brings Snow Igloo Park to life every winter.

The park usually opens around December 10, depending on weather conditions.

📅 September 1 – November 19
🔥 Polarman’s Camp

Polarman’s Camp opens as soon as the Arctic nights become dark enough.

While Snow Igloo Park is still under construction, guests can enjoy an authentic Arctic evening at our private riverside location near Levi:
