It’s back! 🚐.
Safe & easy bike shuttle between Levi/Äkäslompolo/Kolari/Kittilä (FIN) ↔ Alta (NOR)! Bikes handled with love, riders with care.

Weekly bike, people, gear & bike box transportation between the Äkäslompolo/Kolari/Levi/Kittilä (FIN) and the City of Alta (NOR) during the main bikepacking season of Lapland. The shuttle is a minibus with a bike trailer for 10 bikes (and 8 persons). Bikes handled with love & care for a dent-free service.

Transportation of a bike box or other gear is possible as well in case you’re flying into Kittlä and then flying out from Alta, for instance.

Schedule

In 2025 the shuttle runs on Saturdays from the 2nd of August until the 27th of September.
The confirmed dates therefore being: Sat 2.8.25, Sat 9.8.25, Sat 16.8.25, Sat 23.8.25, Sat 30.8.25, Sat 6.9.25, Sat 13.9.25, Sat 20.9.25 and Sat 27.9.25. The minimum participant amount is 2 for the transfer to take place.

Meeting at 06:20 at Levi (Sirkka), Zero Point (address Hissitie 8, 99130 Kittilä). We load the bikes into cars and trailers designed for bike transport. There are places for cyclists on the minibus.

Pricing & Booking:

Rider, gear & bike transportation SOUTH TO NORTH: 169 euro

Bike box/bike/gear transportation: 59 euro (storage of items on location organised by traveller)

Tickets must be purchased in advance online. Please specify the stops you’re getting on and off after the ticket purchase at [email protected].

The bike box/bike/gear transfer cannot be booked online at the moment, so please hit us with a message at [email protected] to get that sorted.

Cycling is one of the best ways to experience nature.

Pedaling along quiet gravel roads or winding forest trails, you can feel how the air gets cooler and cleaner the further north you go. The pine trees stretch tall and steady, reindeer sometimes wander lazily across your path, and in the distance you might hear nothing but the wind brushing through the trees.

Cycling in Lapland isn’t about speed or distance. It’s about slowing down enough to notice the small things: the crunch of gravel, the smell of fresh moss, the calm that only comes when nature wraps around you from every side. It’s a way to not just see the landscape, but to be part of it.

By midsummer, water levels drop even up north in Lapland — which means many early summer paddling routes become too shallow and rocky for kayaks or canoes.

But that’s where the packraft comes in.

Light, inflatable, and incredibly agile, packrafts glide through shallows and can be easily carried overland when needed.

This flexibility lets us explore remote, narrow rivers and adjust our route just days before the trip, based on real-time conditions.
