Kerala 🇮🇳 And then, just before dark… Munnar. 🌿
Rolling hills, tea plantations and mist hanging over the landscape. So atmospheric and absolutely stunning.

🇨🇦A little Canada inspiration for July 2027…🇨🇦

Start with the atmosphere of the Calgary Stampede, then head south for a few nights at a luxury working ranch before continuing into the Rockies.

Waterton Lakes, Banff, Lake Louise and Moraine Lake all feature, making this a brilliant combination of cowboy culture, ranch life and some seriously spectacular mountain scenery.

And this isn’t just an inspiration post - this itinerary is bookable for July 2027!

Save this one if Canada is on your list for 2027 ✈️🏔️
Send this to someone who’d love cowboy country followed by the Rockies 📩

It’s been a very busy week since I got back from holiday a week ago!

Lots of bookings to work on, and I’m working through some fantastic enquiries for 2027 too. It’s always lovely seeing what exciting trips are already starting to take shape.

I’ve also started a WhatsApp Channel, where I’ll be sharing travel inspiration, what I’m currently planning and exclusive opportunities, offers and special extras I can access through Travel Counsellors and my trusted suppliers. If you’d like to follow along I’ll share the details to my stories.

Today I’m also keeping a close eye on the situation in France, with pilots striking and some potential disruption for clients currently travelling there.

There’s plenty more coming up too. At the end of the month I’ll be heading off to Southern India 🇮🇳 for a work trip, followed by a birthday trip to Slovenia 🇸🇮 for my hubby.

October is already looking busy with a few supplier events in the diary, which I always love. They’re a great opportunity to catch up with suppliers, discover what’s new and keep building my knowledge.

I’m also working on developing my business in lots of different directions at the moment, so there’s lots happening behind the scenes.

It’s a busy time, but an exciting one - and I’m looking forward to sharing more of it with you 🌍✈️

**Postcards from a family cruise this summer** ☀️🚢

Some lovely photos from my clients’ recent cruise aboard P&O Arvia, sailing from Southampton and visiting La Coruña, Barcelona, Alicante, Marseille and Cádiz.

Such a convenient way to sightsee with kids - experiencing different places in bite-sized stops, without the logistics of moving hotels and packing everyone up every few days.

Add in plenty of kids’ entertainment on board and a balcony cabin for those views, and it makes for a pretty great family holiday. 🌊

Thanks to my lovely clients for letting me share their holiday snaps. ❤️

✨ As I’ve been busy getting customers ready to set off on their cruises this month, I’m already looking ahead to some fantastic last-minute opportunities for anyone still dreaming of a Mediterranean escape.

One itinerary that has really caught my eye is this 10-night sailing aboard Norwegian Viva, departing 16 September 2026 from Rome to Istanbul.

☀️ September is one of the most beautiful times to cruise the Mediterranean, with warm sunshine, warm seas, fewer crowds and ideal sightseeing temperatures.

This fantastic port-rich itinerary includes:
🇮🇹 Rome
🇬🇷 Santorini
🇬🇷 Mykonos
🇬🇷 Athens
🇹🇷 Kusadasi (gateway to the ancient city of Ephesus)
🇹🇷 Istanbul

What makes this sailing even more special is the itinerary itself. With minimal sea days, multiple late evening departures and an overnight stay in Istanbul, you’ll have plenty of time to truly experience each destination rather than simply ticking off the highlights.

For couples looking to make their holiday extra special, The Haven by Norwegian offers an exclusive luxury retreat with elegant suites, private dining, an infinity pool, sundeck, butler service and concierge, creating a true boutique hotel experience at sea.

With current promotional cruise fares and last-minute availability still remaining, this sailing represents exceptional value for anyone looking to enjoy one of the Mediterranean’s most desirable itineraries in style.

How far do you want to fly? How hot do you want it? Beach and switch-off, or wildlife, culture and adventure? And how comfortable are you with different weather patterns and flight routings? The answer is different for everyone.

These are all things I consider when helping my clients find the right winter escape – as well as looking at how we can build in flexibility wherever possible.

Not all beach destinations are quiet, there’s still plenty to see and do in the Caribbean for example. Feel free to reach out for a no obligation chat!

Save for some winter sun inspiration ☀️

These are the trips I’ve found really reward the early planners 🗓️

It’s not always about securing the best price. More often, it’s about having the best choice of accommodation, experiences and itineraries, and giving yourself the time to create a trip that feels just right.

Whether it’s a small safari camp with only a handful of tents, a FIFA World Cup itinerary that needs careful planning around matches and host cities, or an RV adventure where campsites book up months in advance, some trips simply work better with a little more forward planning.

I hope this is helpful if you’re dreaming about one of these experiences in the future. ✨

And a little insider tip… for some of these trips, you don’t necessarily need to wait until flights are released before starting the planning process. In certain cases, securing accommodation or key elements first can actually be the best approach.

📌 Save this post for future reference and feel free to share it with someone who loves planning their next adventure.

Which of these trips is on your wish list?

🌍 I’m proud to share that Travel Counsellors has achieved **Travelife Partner** status – a leading international sustainability certification for the travel industry.

This recognition reflects our commitment to continually improving the way we operate, from the suppliers and partners we work with to the way we support our customers. Achieving Travelife Partner status isn’t simply about making a pledge; it requires businesses to demonstrate compliance against a comprehensive set of internationally recognised sustainability criteria.

For me, it’s reassuring to be part of a company that’s committed to helping clients explore the world more responsibly, while supporting positive environmental, social and economic practices across the travel industry.

It’s an important milestone on our sustainability journey, and one I’m proud to be part of.

From ancient temples and misty tea plantations to wildlife encounters and golden beaches, Sri Lanka packs an incredible amount into one trip..

This 11-night itinerary combines culture, scenery, wildlife and coast, taking in Sigiriya, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Yala National Park and Galle, with a carefully selected collection of hotels along the way.

One of the things I love about Sri Lanka is how naturally different experiences come together in a single journey. You can be exploring ancient sites one day, spotting wildlife on safari the next, before ending your trip by the ocean.

Highlights include:

🌿 Exploring Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle and ancient sites

🚙 Wildlife experiences including safari game drives in two national parks

🍃 Time in the tea country with stunning mountain scenery and cooler temperatures

🏖 Relaxing on the south coast with time to enjoy beaches, historic towns and ocean views

🏨 A handpicked collection of boutique and luxury accommodation throughout

🚗 Private transfers throughout for a seamless travel experience

✈️ Example itinerary based on Manchester departures
📅 September 2026
🌴 11 nights
💷 From £3,879pp

The beauty of a tailor-made trip is that it doesn’t have to look exactly like this. Airports, travel dates, duration and hotels can all be adjusted to suit you, so if Sri Lanka is on your wish list, get in touch and we can create something that’s right for you.

Prices are based on 2 adults sharing and were correct at the time of posting. Subject to availability and change. Please contact me for full T&C’s

One thing I’ve learnt from planning holidays is that everyone has their ‘thing’ 😄

I love a beach in a bay… I like that they often feel more sheltered, the water is usually calmer and it can be easier to keep an eye on the kids than on a long stretch of open coastline.

One of my colleagues at Travel Counsellors once told me she really dislikes a hotel with a square-shaped pool. So don’t think me strange for asking about pool preferences 😂

Sometimes clients tell me they want an all-inclusive, only for me to discover that what they really love is wandering into town in the evening, choosing a different restaurant each night and not being tied to meal times.

For others it’s:

🚆 Train travel over driving

🏖️ Sand over pebbles

🚢 Large cruise ships only

🌍 Fewer Brits around

🏖 A lively beach rather than a secluded one

🧳 Unpacking once and staying put

🌅 A sea view that’s worth waking up to

It’s often these little preferences that shape the perfect holiday far more than the destination itself.

That’s why I spend so much time understanding what people enjoy, not just where they want to go.

Out of curiosity…

What’s your holiday thing?!
