Green Tourism of Finland GTF® - Ecolabel

Well-known Finnish sustainable tourism eco-label GTF® quality management system meets stringent international criteria. Eco-labeled companies offer travelers a high-quality, safe and environmentally friendly alternative. Our eco-label is meant to emphasize the ecological functioning of the service provider, as well as the cultural and social content of the

ir services. The eco-label distinguishes eco-friendly tourist services from the more conventional ones. Green Tourism of Finland GTF® both recommends and helps market these companies and their services to travellers. GTF® eco-label can be awarded to small and medium sized Finnish tourism services providing companies, who meet our criteria.

The Luminol Finland 100 project will light up today for a fair period of time. The Lighting has already raised a lot of ideas and feelings for and against, and it has been discussed in the media and social media.

Tänään se tapahtuu!

Luminous Finland 100 Saanan valoteos käynnistyy tänään 4.12.2017. Teos tulee esiin hämärän myötä ja on koettavissa 5.12. puolille öin saakka.

Järkälemäinen ja ikoninen Saana on ollut kautta aikojen erityisen merkityksellinen ja pyhäpaikka saamelaisille ja pohjoisen alueen ihmisille. Juhlavuotemme kunniaksi Saana-tunturista tehdään täysin uniikki valotaideteos, jollaista ei ole koskaan toteutettu mihinkään päin maailmaa.

- Saanan valotaideteoksella haluan nostaa esille Suomen puhtaan luonnon ja sen ainutlaatuisuuden. Puhdas luonto on varmasti yksittäisenä asiana meille suomalaisille kaikkein arvokkain asia, kertoo valotaiteilija Kari Kola.

Saanan valoteoksen ovat mahdollistaneet Saamelaiskäräjät, Metsähallitus, Valtioneuvoston kanslia sekä Enontekiön kunta. Lisäksi Luminous Finland 100 yhteistyökumppaneita ovat Ehrgeiz, Green Finland Energy sekä Brandt.

Since ancient times Saana has been a significant and a sacred place for Sami people and all peoples in the North. The artwork highlites concretely the fact that the centennial of Finnish Independence is celebrated everywhere in Finland, also in the scarcely populated areas. - By Saana artwork I specifically wish to draw attention to Finland’s unique nature, says Light artist Kari Kola.
