This year so far has been quiet in the gite. We have had family and friends over to stay with us and we have had two trips away. This Friday we are welcoming two German families who are here to attend a baseball tournament in La Guerche. The pool has been lovely and warm as we have had really high temperatures these last few weeks.
We have had a cancellation in August so if anyone would like to have a break in sunny France please contact me and I will give. you further information. The first week in August is free and so is the middle week, 15-23 is available. Obviously reduced rates will be applied.

Our French guests are settling in for the Christmas period, 6 of them for 6 nights. A lovely family gathering. We would like to wish all our lovely past guests a merry Christmas and a happy and healthy 2026.

We have just said goodbye to our last guests of the season, a lovely family of 8 from France. Weather is still quite nice here, plenty of sunshine, along with some rain!

Like something different this Christmas? La Morinais is open all over Christmas and New Year. If you would like a nice quiet secluded Christmas/New Year with your family why not come to La Morinais? We always have festive decorations and a lovely log burner which makes it nice and cosy. We can sleep 8 and also have travel cots for babies. We are close to a couple of towns and these are always beautifully decorated, particularly Chateaubriant which is only 20 minutes from us, the display all along the moat by the Chateau is quite spectacular. There is an ice rink in the centre of Chateaubriant so plenty of fun for the family. Contact me if you have any questions.

We have had a lovely week with family, luckily the weather was good for most of it. We are now coming to the end of another season and welcomed some lovely guests and lots of family and friends. We stay open all through the year and this Christmas the gite is free. If you would like a nice quiet break away in a cosy gite let me know. We decorate it so it looks lovely and festive. We had this lovely review and a score of 10 from our guests last week on BDC. We are absolutely chuffed to get such a glowing review. Having said that, we have always had really good reviews, this one was rather special!

"We were looking for rural. We were looking for peace and tranquility. Both were achieved in spades. La Morinais is a large gite set amid the farmlands and owned by Janet and Colin, a British couple. Whilst they are unobtrusive they are available if the need should arise. The gite has four bedrooms and is very accommodating of eight people. In our case the we were a multi generation family and the layout allowed the older of us to escape the younger element. The provision of three separate toilets was helpful. The gite is comfortable and everything we needed was provided and the attention given to provide games etc to occupy us in the large grounds was admirable. These included table tennis, badminton, a bean bag game, bicycles and the real bonus was a heated swimming pool. We could easily have stayed longer than our ten days and would happily revisit. Above all, for a large family La Morinais represents excellent value for money".
