Visitors always comment on the wildlife they see at Les Galets.
Today, an injured long-eared owl was found by residents of the village just a few hundred metres from the property.
In his capacity as mayor of the village, Cyril took the owl to the vet and arranged for it to be taken in by a local wildlife association. The owl is now in good hands 🙏

We’re proud to support such a meaningful cause 💖

On Sunday, 5 October, our village is organising a sporting event in aid of cancer research.

As part of the charity tombola, the first prize is a night for 4 people at Les Galets. ☺️

We’ve received some lovely feedback on our accommodation over the summer!

Following a cancellation, our gite which can accommodate up to 6 people, is available over the 1st July 2025.

A series of moving ceremonies marking the 1st day of the Battle of the Somme take place on 1st July, several in walking distance of our property.

Accommodation starts from 110 euros per night, please contact us for more information.

In Loving Memory of Michael Renshaw

We are saddened to share the news of the passing of Michael Renshaw, former owner of Les Galets and a familiar face to many who have stayed here over the years.

Michael had a long connection to the house, where he helped with renovations and the general upkeep, and supported the bed and breakfast run by his wife Julie from the early 90s until her return to the UK a few years ago.

Michael had a deep interest in the First World War, and authored several books in the Battleground Europe series, including Mametz Wood and Redan Ridge.

We have fond memories of Michael, and we’re pleased to have been able to attend his funeral service in Ludlow earlier this week.

May he rest in peace.

We’ve been busy, busy, busy but the second gite at Les Galets is ready to open next week ! 😍 So pleased with the results 😍

Cyril has been working hard these last few months renovating the second half of Les Galets into another gite.

There’s still some work to do, but it will be open by May!

This gite will sleep four, and guests can book both for a total of 10 people.

Both gites are private, with separate fenced off gardens and patios.

Bookings are now open on Airbnb and Bookings.com, and of course you can book through us directly which works out much cheaper ☺️

Cyril always goes that step further! Even going grocery shopping when recent guests were left without a car! 🥰

Lorsque nos voyageurs récents se sont trouvés sans voiture, Cyril n'a pas hésité à rendre service, même en allant faire quelques courses 🥰
