So proud of our Tilly, she is 18 and we moved here when she was just 10! This week she got amazing grades for her first semsester at uni! She is studying commerce and languages. She speaks English (obvs), French, Spanish, Portuguese and she’s just taken on Arabic!
Those that know her from the start know that she has worked so hard and has achieved so much! It’s just about being brave 💗 we are thrilled we moved here for her and us!

We would say, if you even think for a second that dream will work then you should go for it!!

Today was w**d the driveway day for me!! It’s 14 degrees here and overcast, so the perfect day for w**ding, I estimate it took me about 4 hours total!
We have a list of jobs to get ready for our season which starts early this year with returning guests for a weekend in March! We will blink and it will be here! 💗 🇫🇷

I can’t believe it! I’ve checked this morning and we have 1020 followers! Thank you all so much for your support!
When we moved to France seven and a half years ago we didn’t know whether the gite would be a success (we thought it would of course but you never know!) and look at us! Fully booked every year since, new friends, amazing guests and memories!

Our beautiful 4 bedroom gite set just outside of St Savinien in the Charente maritime is available. This will be our 9th season and as always our returning guests will get a loyalty discount!
All clients will get 10% off of the second week!

Our gite has all you could possibly need from your holiday, outside we have 3 acres of land, a small woodland with hammocks, table tennis, a Beautiful pool, badminton and more..
Inside you have 2 kingside bedrooms and two twin rooms, two larger shower rooms, a large kitchen diner and lounge, utility room and covered terrace for those hot days, there are lots of other areas of seating around the garden.
We have fibre wifi, English and French TV, PlayStation, selection of games and books too!

A day at the rugby watching our local team! Great day ahead!!

So, this year we are making the cabin in the woods into a little retreat, we plan yoga mats, singing bowls, chimes and somewhere peaceful to be mindful.

We also plan to have a small education centre for the little ones, books on wildlife, nature kits, colouring and reading zones.

Incase you don’t know, the cabin is in the woodland next to the pool, is there anything else you would like to see in there? (a full pub / bar is out of the question 😂😂).

Ideas for teens and older kids gratefully received!

P.s. the coffee machine has been trialed and is heading to the gite ✅

When gîte guests become ‘framily’ and the ‘Dayling’ Christmas’ continue year after year and just keep getting better.
Moving to France has bought us many more positives in our life but making new lifelong friends has got to be one of the best! Thank you for a fab Christmas and here’s to next year!!

Tomorrow we have friends arriving for Christmas!!

These friends started as gite guests nearly 7 years ago and have become forever friends, sharing the last 2 Christmas’ together and this is our third! We cannot wait to welcome the day family tomorrow!

So we want to say merry Christmas and happy new year to all of our guests past and present and future too! Because as of tomorrow we are signing off until 2025!

Thank you for all being so supportive and so wonderful for us here in France, we don’t take it for granted and thank you all 💗 we look forward to seeing some of you in 2025! X
