One of those unplanned but perfect stops 🤍

On a ride day not far from the château we’ll be calling home in 2026, I pulled up in the village of Pouzac and wandered into this beautiful family-run bakery. Three generations, everything made on site, and the kind of bread that makes you immediately slow down and stay a little longer.

This is exactly what Plate & Pedal is about – great riding, quiet villages, and food that’s made with care by people who love what they do.

You’ll be seeing more places like this when we’re back in the Pyrenees 🇫🇷🥖🚴‍♂️

We’re excited to officially confirm dates for the 2026 Plate & Pedal Food & Bike Tour in the French Pyrenees.

📍 22–29 August 2026

This is a carefully curated week where guests can choose between daily guided cycling, immersive gourmet food and wine experiences, or a blend of both – beautifully hosted, and designed to be memorable in every sense.

On the final day of our Plate & Pedal tour we visited the beautiful Château de Sabazan 🍇🍷

From wandering the vineyards to exploring the barrel room, the group got an inside look at the winemaking process. We even rolled up our sleeves for a hands-on class and each bottled our own wine to take home.

Of course, we couldn’t resist sampling our creations together back at our Château before sitting down for one last dinner as a group – the perfect way to wrap up an incredible week of food, wine, and memories.

The Hautacam ✅ The third and final Col for our week in the Pyrénées! Whilst quite a bit shorter than the Tourmalet, this was still a tough climb with many extended steep sections at an 11% incline. Reached the summit amongst the clouds so will need to ride again on a clear day, but the views on the way up back across Argeles-Gazost and the valley towards Lourdes was spectacular.

Col du Tourmalet ✅ A bucket list ride for many cyclists, and it did not disappoint! Huge kudos to our tour guest, Brian, who at 76 years scaled this beast of a climb today - A huge inspiration to us all.

Col d’Aspin ✅ A wonderful experience cycling up one of the Tour de France’s climbs, with a short detour halfway to see Lac de Payolle!
