Marqueyssac Gardens is a favoured place near Belves to stroll, sip drinks, eat crepe, and breathe in the atmosphere from the plateau ridge. Glorious. The peacocks love it too.

I love this 50s style advert. The Belvès flying club is an association bringing together enthusiasts whose aim is to make recreational flying accessible to as many people as possible and offers training for microlight and airplane pilots. Come and discover the Périgord Noir from the sky by taking your first flight or an introductory flight with an instructor. It's the opportunity to take in the scenery from another perspective.

We've received some lovely reviews from our guests. Here are a couple. The cooler weather is approaching (Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb) but it's still a great place to visit. We had some Australian guests last December who experienced a cold Christmas for a change. You might be lucky enough to get a few days of snow too.

Yes, we have an outdoor area. Our little terraced courtyard is accessed by walking 2 houses up the street and down a rear pathway. We were delighted to find a shell fossil in our stone. We have a timber outdoor setting (not pictured here) that seats 4 people. Enjoy yummy delights from the local Saturday market such as the amazing nougat in the photo.

We recently spent a week in our cute house to liaise with some tradesmen, and do some site-seeing. Here is a super-moon from our kitchen window. We recommend that you visit Chateau des Milandes when you visit our region. It was owned for 30 years by the amazing entertainer, Josephine Baker, and is only about 20 minutes drive from Belves.

Narrow village lanes means there's little room for garbage bins or rubbish removal trucks, so the locals drive their garbage and recycling stuff to the local depot at the bottom of the hill. The conveniences that we take for granted at home in Australia, like weekly rubbish removal by the local council, are willingly sacrificed in this lovely little village in exchange for its quaint charm.

If you walk into the village centre on Saturdays, you'll find the open-air market place which is regularly hosted. Mingle with the small crowd and enjoy produce from the region. It's a delight.
