Arrived to start painting only to find 5 tiny feathered squatters 😱 ...hopefully mum hasn't been frightened off...2 to 3 weeks before they fledge!

Back at it this week. Painting materials ready to be transported up to the 'for sale' house for a week of refreshing!🥱 Unusual heat dome and yet another May bank holiday for the froggies; good time for indoor work.

Plumber Nacer progressing with bathrooms. Impossibly heavy shower tray installed and levelled. Basin worktops and lino cut using tortured cardboard templates. Creating a porcelain plinth to raise wc level by an inch in bedroom 2. Only way to accommodate waste to the garage annexe. Gérard laying bathroom floor tiles on top of the unfamiliar electric underfloor matting. First use of laser levelling dado rail in living room. How have I ever managed without? Monster antique armoire assembled in bedroom 1 without any instructions. The Hack' being put to work holding up pictures for size 😅. After two failed attempts, the inner porch door finally working. First shower working in the attic bedroom after many months of using the lovely neighbour's. Fantastic reunion with old university friend Marie in Carcassonne after many years.

At least I've somewhere to sit 😵😅 and have a coffee on this quiet May Day bank holiday. All of unionised France is religiously shut. Remarkable.

I need some Lily Of The Valley to bring me happiness finishing this site! 🫣 "Bonne fete de Muguet"

Mad Monday! Gérard the tiler, Thierry the plumber and Jerome the AC installer all in at same time. Each with a van, and roads closed on account neighbouring roofers! 🫨🫣
