We were thrilled that Dana Beninati, the Food Network’s sommelier in residence, took our Bordeaux Old Town food tour and called it “fantastic”! Thanks Dana !

First it was “chocolatine” vs. “pain au chocolate.” Behold another South vs. North rivalry in France: brioche vs. puff pastry for January’s ubiquitous Galette des Rois. Throughout the country you’ll find a flakey, almond-y style but I’ll happily take this one from .bordeaux scented with fleur d’oranger. It was the star of a recent tour !

Where we’re eating in 2026: we recommend for our clients looking for a local, unfussy vibe and interesting vegetarian and even (gasp!) vegan options. That smashed oyster mushroom was outstanding. Big 💕 for being dog friendly and if you swipe to the end you’ll see our unofficial mascot.

Where we’re eating in 2026: Topping the list is . One of my most memorable meals last year was this souris d’agneau, unforgettable bar (sea bass) and a warm madeleine handed to me fresh from the oven. With a cozy ambience, friendly service and a great selection of wines by the glass, it’s where I’m telling all our food tour clients to snag a table.

congrats on the Michelin inclusion! It’s well deserved.

Thanks .bdx for this amazing lunch the other day! The couple behind it (ex-Le Rigmarole and ex-Folderol) have created a warm and low-key space full of surprises. From their regular pop-ups with visiting chefs to a reasonably priced lunch menu, I’m so glad they now call Bordeaux home.

For our celiac and gluten free guests, we make a special bonus stop on our tours at this bakery. Their kitchen is completely “sans gluten” and just like our other clients, you’ll enjoy a wide variety of baked treats such as canelé or their incredible Gateau Basque which are so good we’d argue that they are better than the original !

We really do personalize every tour and if you don’t believe us, here’s a recent TripAdvisor review:

“Alexandra was an excellent guide! She was very personable, knowledgeable, and kind. My husband and I enjoyed discovering Old Town Bordeaux with her. Even now, I am reflecting on what a lovely time we had… I was also impressed by the personal correspondence the owner emailed me before the tour. I have celiac and eat gluten-free, and she went “above and beyond” to discuss my dietary restrictions with me before I booked. She and Alexandra took extra steps to accommodate me on the tour. I was truly impressed! It was a special treat for me to fully enjoy this fun food tour…”
