🌲 Meet one of the quiet giants of La Soliniere 🌲

Standing proudly on our property is something truly remarkable:
a sequoia tree — calm, majestic, and full of promise.

Right now, this giant is already impressive:
• Around 20 meters tall (about a five-storey building)
• Approximately 2.5 times the height of the barn
• Estimated to be around 50 years old
• Trunk diameter of approx. 38 cm
• Currently the tallest tree in the village

According to the tree surgeon working in our property right now, this sequoia still has an incredible future ahead: 👉 it can grow 4 to 5 times its current size.

Which means what we see today — as impressive as it already is — is only the beginning.

🌿 Some fascinating facts about sequoias:
• They are among the largest and longest-living trees on Earth
• Some sequoias can live for more than hundreds of years
• Their thick bark makes them naturally resistant to fire, insects, and disease
• They are often seen as symbols of strength, resilience, and longevity
• Fully grown, they inspire not just admiration — but awe

We are incredibly fortunate to have two sequoias on the grounds of La Soliniere.

Majestic today…

Watching these trees grow alongside this new chapter of the estate feels deeply symbolic. Some things in life are meant to grow slowly — and to last.

As our family steps into a new year, we wanted to take a moment to say thank you —
for every message, every encouraging word, and every person who has walked with us through this season of change.

We are grateful to God for guiding us through 2025 — the good days, the hard days, and everything in between. His steady hand has brought us here, and we trust Him with what comes next.

This coming year will be a big one for us at La Soliniere - renovations to begin, immigration process for the caretaker, ERP approval so we can legally do events and weddings, and—most exciting of all—welcoming our first guests, celebrations, and weddings as the new owner of this domaine. There is a lot of work ahead, but also so much joy to look forward to. We can’t wait to share the progress with you as we bring this historic estate to life again.

From our family to yours, we pray that 2026 brings peace, strength, and hope to you and the people you love. Thank you for supporting us and for following our journey — it means more than you know.

After many months of waiting, dreaming and planning, we can finally say it:
we have signed — and we are now the caretakers of La Soliniere! 🏡❤️

🧹 What’s happening first?
• The barn renovation begins in January, so we can host our first events this summer 💍🎉
• The garden needs attention:
🍂 leaves to rake
🌱 grass to cut (once the rain finally stops!)
• The pool needs to be emptied and prepared for the season
• And yes… we’ve already found a few roof leaks 🙃 Luckily, the roof is made of terracotta tiles that can be adjusted by hand, so with patience and a bit of dry weather 🤞
I can repair it myself — no specialist needed.
Only two floors high — manageable, as long as I take my time and stay careful. 🧗‍♂️

Somewhere between the leaves, the ladders, the tiles and the keys… we realised something important:
