Sneak peek at the Bayeux Tapestry merch on sale from next week. Nary a tea towel in sight?!? (No, this is not an ad. I just thought it was neat that you can buy a replica Anglo Saxon helmet and such).

What will you be shelling out for?

Unreal. That’s the only word I have to describe Bharti Kher’s pieces at the V&A. Fleshy, ghostly, folk horror beauty.

“British Indian artist Bharti Kher is internationally recognised for her sculptures which explore the body, womanhood, mythology and cultural identity. This display brings her work into conversation with the V&A’s historic collections.”

Oof. This really stings. I’m just a good writer who uses some flowery language now and then - and a few em dashes - and my writing TRAINED AI.

Have any other creators been hit with comments like these when they painstakingly do all their own writing?

(This is a comment on my Marie Antoinette video, btw, which has a BANGER of a script that I worked really hard on.)

Do you want a tour guide who uses phrases like “the Farnese Hercules hangs serious dong”?

No? Good thing I don’t say things like that on tour (but I’m always thinking it). (Photo courtesy of Alex Kennedy )

Taking my friend Alex Kennedy to see all of the most important sights in London, and explaining how I chose to go to UCL without even knowing that it is the only university with its own 18th-century mummy.

Dream-like, intense, and spellbinding. Today I went to see Zurbarán at the National Gallery (carrying on in my tradition of panicking and seeing NG shows in their final week). Spanish baroque painting usually isn’t my jam (though I tend to prefer it to Italian Baroque) but I’m easily swayed by the drama of good curation. This was an excellent show, and I’m a convert (especially to the floating clouds of disembodied cherub heads and Saint Apollonia holding pliers to show us a tooth wrenched out of her head by the Romans). 5/5 Ends Sunday!

I don’t just enjoy circus history- I love going to the circus, too! Had a wonderful time at The Revel Puck Circus yesterday.

Back in February I had the pleasure of visiting the St Bride’s charnel house. They asked that we not take photos of the actual pit, but photos of these storage boxes were permitted.

The medieval charnel house contains an estimated 7000 human remains, with neatly arranged skulls and jumbled piles of long bones.
