Following in the footsteps of a Screaming Eagle 🦅🎖️
Yesterday, we had the honor of guiding Lyndsay, the great-granddaughter of Pfc. Gerald J. Beckerman, who served with the 1st Battalion Company B, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. 🦅🪖

It was an incredibly emotional day for Lyndsay, who was visiting Normandy for the first time to walk the battlefields and pay tribute to her great-grandfather, who fought here nearly 81 years ago. To mark this special occasion, Lyndsay brought with her the original patch her great-grandfather wore in 1944.

We visited many of the places Gerald described in his memoirs, including Hiesville and Carentan. After the Battle of Normandy, Pfc. Beckerman continued his service by parachuting into the Netherlands during Operation Market Garden and later fighting in Belgium during the Battle of the Bulge.

Thank you for your service, Pfc. Beckerman. You will not be forgotten.

LETTRES D’UN PARACHUTISTE 📝🎖️

Hier, lors de notre voyage au Colorado, nous avons trouvé ces lettres incroyables. La première lettre que nous avons aperçu avait un tampon de poste qui indiquait "1944". Après avoir regardé les lettres de plus prêt, un autre indice un petit parachute et la mention Fort Benning... "UN PARACHUTISTE !
Au total, 17 lettres du même parachutiste entre 1943 et 1945. Nous allons lire ces lettres et faire des recherches afin de découvrir son histoire et nous vous tiendrons informé de l’avancement des recherches ! D'autres informations sont à venir très bientôt, Stay around 📝🎖️
