Today we are excitedly anticipating the arrival of our guests. They will be coming in from Dijon shortly and we are looking forward to our voyage. After leaving Saint Jean de Lonse we travelled to Seurre a beautiful little village on the banks of the Saone. It was interesting to see the recent investments that they have made in their port. It is large enough to receive river cruise ships. You can see the economic growth that these investments have created for the village.

Next we arrived in Chalon sur Saone….ancient port city dating back to before the Romans. We are moored in the city port which is across the way from the old walled fortress. This town is a perfect restocking point for our travels. Good train access, bus service and great access to shopping. More to come…

From Dijon we move on to Saint Jean de Losne our home port for Relax Companion. We have a few days to get the boat ready for our guests. Flowers are blooming, smell of lilacs in the air. People are out and about enjoying cafes and parks. Spring is lovely in Burgundy!
