ONE MONTH TO GO! 🌍🏔️

In just one month, Get Set Adventure Ltd will be heading to Tanzania to take on Mount Kilimanjaro - 5,895m and the highest mountain in Africa! 🇹🇿

From the first steps on the Machame Route, through the rainforest and alpine desert, to that final push towards Uhuru Peak… it’s going to be one hell of an adventure 🥾⛰️

But this trip is about more than just reaching the summit. It’s about the people we’re doing it with, the stories we’ll bring home, the early mornings, tired legs, incredible views and everything that happens along the way.

We’ve got an amazing group heading out, and we genuinely can’t wait to experience it together.

Kilimanjaro Meet the Group Weekend ⛰️🇹🇿

Last weekend, some of the Get Set Adventure Ltd Kilimanjaro crew came together in Snowdonia for a weekend of hiking, training and getting to know the people we’ll be sharing an incredible adventure with next month.

For many of the group, this was the first chance to meet the people they’ll be trekking alongside - and what better way to break the ice than by heading into the mountains together?

🏔️ Sunday: A loop of the Glyders

Alongside the miles and elevation, the weekend was a chance to ask questions, share experiences and talk all things Kilimanjaro - from kit and preparation to what to expect on the mountain.

Most importantly, it gave the group the opportunity to get to know each other and start building the team spirit that will carry us all the way to the summit 🙌

WHAT TO PACK FOR KILIMANJARO? 🏔️🎒

Climbing Kilimanjaro means packing for pretty much every climate going - from warm, sunny trails at the lower elevations to freezing temperatures on summit night 🥶

So, what actually needs to go in your bag?

We’ve put together our complete Kilimanjaro kit list covering everything from your main duffle and daypack to the layers, footwear, sleeping kit and those all-important summit essentials.

A few things we’d particularly recommend:
🥾 Break your boots in well before the trip
🧥 Think layers - you’ll be adding and removing them throughout the trek
🧤 Don’t underestimate summit night - warm gloves, hat and a good insulated jacket are essential
💧 Stay hydrated - bring your bottles, electrolytes and plenty of snacks
🎒 Keep your daypack manageable - porters carry your main duffle, while you carry your essentials each day

Kayak, hike & wild camp in the Lofoten Islands - Day 5 🛶🔥

With the mountains hidden by low cloud but the forecast looking far better on the water, we decided to squeeze in one more day of paddling.

After a wet start, the skies gradually opened up, rewarding us with patches of blue as we continued south from Rolvsfjord to Steine.

The Lofoten coastline never gets old. Crystal-clear water, rugged peaks rising straight from the sea, and another day spent exploring one of the most spectacular corners of the world.

Back at our base in Eggum, there was no better way to celebrate an unforgettable week than with an outdoor sauna, a refreshing dip in the Arctic Sea, and a fantastic lamb supper shared with new friends.

The perfect ending to an incredible adventure. 🇳🇴💙

Kayak, hike & wild camp in the Lofoten Islands – Day 4 🥾⛰️

“It’s not all sunshine and rainbows…” 😅

After three incredible days on the water, today we swapped paddles for hiking boots and headed into the mountains. The weather reminded us who’s really in charge up here, but that’s all part of the adventure.

We battled our way to the summit of Brattfloget, earning breathtaking views before taking shelter in a cosy mountain hut for lunch. There was nothing better than warming up around the fire while watching the weather roll through the peaks.

Back at camp, the perfect reward awaited – a delicious salmon supper, plenty of laughs, and another evening spent soaking up life in one of the most beautiful places on Earth 🇳🇴

Our final day on the water… and what a way to finish.

Another incredible paddle through the heart of the Lofoten Islands, surrounded by towering peaks, pristine beaches and some of the clearest water we’ve ever seen. Every kilometre reminded us why this is one of the world’s greatest sea kayaking destinations.

Three days, around 60km of paddling, countless unforgettable moments, and a group that’s embraced every challenge and every adventure together 💙

Tomorrow we trade our kayaks for hiking boots as we head into the mountains. If the views from sea level have been this spectacular, we can’t wait to see what awaits us from above. ⛰️🇳🇴

Kayak, hike & wild camp in the Lofoten Islands - Day 2 🛶🏕️

Another 20km ticked off, and what a day it’s been!

We’ve been treated to what the locals are calling the best weather the Lofoten Islands have seen all July, with calm seas, blue skies, and crystal-clear turquoise water that almost didn’t seem real ☀️💙

Every paddle stroke brought another incredible view, with dramatic mountains rising from the sea in every direction. We stopped for lunch at one of the most spectacular spots imaginable, before ending the day cooling off with another swim in the Arctic waters and a campfire supper.

It’s hard to put into words just how special this place is.

Tomorrow is our final day of kayaking before we swap paddles for hiking boots… but if today is anything to go by, the adventure is far from over 🇳🇴
