When we first met and fell in love, Martijn and I promised each other to live a life based on our three core values: Freedom, Trust and Adventure. Not only as lovers, but both being entrepreneurs we always felt like experiencing foreign adventures in different cultures.
And so we did. Five years ago, in the heart of Burgundy, during pandemic times, we found our new adventure (or did it find us? 🔥) that immediately felt like our new home. A magical valley where guests, family and friends would be welcome to stay, enjoy, celebrate and heal among the five elements of nature.
I must be honest, as much as I claim to be his 100% partner in crime, Martijn has always been the catalysator of all. He is the masculine leader; the constructor, the fire, the creation energy. I am the intuitive feeling, feminine leader, the water element in this journey. And we had to grow into these roles. As much as I like tell everyone I am “Madame le President” I guess the “le” says it all in our case. ;)
After many hours of burocracy, contracts in our half-baked French…. banks, insurances, communities, real estate ‘specialists’, former owners that spontaneously popped up cause they could not let go emotionally :) we became the proud owners of “Domaine Les Reprilles”.
This was only the start of our Burgundy adventure. First of all we wanted to create a different atmosphere and we build two extra gîtes, a 70m2 bamboo yoga platform and a veggie garden, a new poolhouse and terrace and ofcourse a hottub. Also big thnx to my 83 year old, very fit father in law Hans..
