I got to blend my own wine at Willamette Winesorks in Folsom and had so much fun. You can book the experience for yourself, or for a group, but you need to book ahead either way.

You’ll get to play winemaker with this fun machine and leave with a growler of your own custom wine.

Start by tasting each of the wines that are available that day, and then get to work customizing your perfect blend.

Turn the dials for each wine to the percentage you want, taste again, and if it’s not perfect - you get to make another.

I had a blast learning about the different wines, trying new blends ( and of course, turning dials and pushing buttons )

This is a must do for wine lovers - and those new to trying wine - while visiting historical Folsom.

Glassy water, hidden coves, and sunshine on your shoulders… Lake Natoma is the kind of place that makes you want to stay on the water all day. 🛶☀️

Whether you’re kayaking or trying stand up paddle boarding, this peaceful stretch of water in Folsom offers plenty of room to paddle, calm conditions perfect for beginners, and beautiful scenery around every bend. Keep an eye out for wildlife too — from ducks and turtles to herons gliding across the shoreline.

After your paddle session, head over to Crawdads on the Lake for lakeside lunch with a view. Think cold drinks, tasty food, and the perfect patio to soak in those post-adventure vibes while overlooking the water.

A pretty perfect California day if you ask me.

Some places don’t fix you.
They just remind you to breathe again.

📣📣Check this out!! History being made right in front of our eyes- This is the coolest thing I’ve ever witnessed. We stopped to gaze up at El Capitan and couldn’t figure out why there was a crowd of people with lawn chairs and binoculars. Turns out - there is a second grader trying to climb to the top. When he succeeds ( I think it will take him 5 days is what I heard) he’ll be the youngest person to ever do it. His brother is the current record holder and completed the climb at 8. Both parents are also climbers and his dad is with him on the climb. So inspiring- and I hope this kiddo knows there was a meadow full of adults in awe of him and cheering him on from below.

Four years ago, after my dad’s funeral, I found myself driving aimlessly through California until I ended up beneath the redwoods. I remember wandering among those giant trees, crying harder than I knew I could, but somehow finding small pockets of peace in the quiet strength of nature.

Today, on what would have been my dad’s birthday, I found myself among giants again — this time the sequoias of Calaveras County. And once again, I cried. Once again, I searched for comfort in the forest. Once again, these ancient, resilient trees reminded me how small I am in the grand scheme of things… and somehow, that feeling brought comfort instead of fear.

There’s something healing about standing beside something that has survived storms, fires, loss, and time itself. Nature has a way of holding grief without trying to fix it. And maybe that’s why I keep finding my way back to the trees.

There are places that make you feel small in the best possible way. Sitting in front of Kaieteur Falls, I didn’t reach for my phone right away. I just… stared. Let it sink in. The sound alone is something you feel in your chest.

Tucked deep inside Kaieteur National Park in Guyana, getting here isn’t casual. You fly in on a small plane over endless rainforest, then walk a short trail to the edge. And suddenly, there it is.

Kaieteur Falls drops 741 feet in a single plunge, making it one of the tallest single-drop waterfalls in the world. For perspective, it’s about four times taller than Niagara Falls. But what really gets you is how untouched it feels. No crowds. No barriers between you and the raw power of it. Just you, the wind, and water crashing into the gorge below.

It’s wild. Humbling. A little surreal.

And for a few quiet minutes, sitting there on the edge of something so massive, everything else feels… smaller. In the best way.

There’s something about Glencoe that quiets the noise.

When everything feels loud, overwhelming, too big to hold…
this is where I come to remember my place in it all.

The mountains don’t rush.
The valleys don’t overthink.
And somehow, standing here, neither do I.

Nature has a way of making you feel small… in the best, most grounding way.

Oh, Scotland. What can I say? Don’t tell the other countries, but you’ve always been my favorite. 😍 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
