Le cap d'Erquy...C'est là que se situerait le village Gaulois le plus célèbre: celui d'Astérix et d'Obélix... Par Toutatis, par Belenos et par Exemple!!!

Erquy headland. It is told that the place inspired René Gosciny when he created his famous comic-book "Astérix"...This is where would be set the famous Gaul village...

It's the scallop season in the Saint-Brieuc bay from mid-October to mid-April. Come and witness the fishermen unloading their precious cargos every Monday and Wednesday in Erquy harbour.

Le petit port des Hôpitaux en Erquy, près de Saint Michel...Mais pourquoi les "hôpitaux"??? En fait, au 13ème siècle, il y avait à proximité une léproserie tenue par l'ordre des Hospitaliers de Saint Jean de Jérusalem... Et même que les malheureux lépreux, retour de croisade, étaient inhumés dans une fosse commune en bordure du rivage dans un lieu qui a ensuite porté le nom de l'endroit où leurs âmes erraient... "la fosse Eyrand"... ;)

Hopitaux harbour is a fine and safe mooring, located near Erquy, NE Brittany... In the back ground is the lovely sea resort of Sable d'Or les Pins...which was built in the early '20s... Even today, the resort architecture bears the style of the "roaring '20s... :) The quary that can be seen in the left upper part of the picture, is one of the quarries which supplied London in the mid 19th century with cobblestones... :)

Un site rare, une nature authentique : rochers de grès rose, bois de pins, lande de bruyères et d’ajoncs, chemins entre les dunes, mer d'émeraude……
