First wolf in Flanders since 100 years!

For the first time in 100 years, a wolf has been recorded in Flanders, Belgium. It is a wolf from Germany, who travelled through the Netherlands to Flanders around Christmas time. The animal has a GPS collar and is being tracked during his journey. It travelled 500 km in 10 days.

Belgium was the last country on mainland Europe that didn't have the wolf come back yet. There were indications of a wolf in 2011 in the Belgian Ardennen area, but there was no official confirmation based on DNA analysis.
