The Dordogne is a stunning region in southwest France. So if you don’t know the area, you’re in for a treat. It’s got some of the most beautifully preserved medieval villages, and you can’t go far without finding a prehistoric cave or several. (see comment👇)

Clos d’Yvigne 2021+Tartiflette heaven🤩
Princesse de Clèves is named after one of the earliest novels in French literature, written by Madame de La Fayette in the 17th century. Its heroine is a model of purity as is this wine. Picked at optimum ripeness with an overnight maceration followed by fermentation at low temperatures.

It is fresh, tangy and pure - citrus and elderflowers aromas carried by a subtly roasted finish, which reveals aging in contact with wood.
100% Sauvignon Blanc 🍇

Bon retour parmi nous, Ryanair.

This is the bastide town of Eymet in the Dordogne. It was founded in 1270 by Alphonse de Poitiers as a fortified market town. Today its central square is still lined with arcades, cafés, and weekly markets.

What surprises a lot of visitors is the strong British presence here. Over the years, many expats have settled in the area, blending with local life. So you get French bakeries, English pubs, and Dordogne wines all within a few steps.

If you are exploring the Bergerac region, this is an easy afternoon stop. Sit outside under the stone arches, order something local, and let the pace slow down. And yes, I am going with a glass of Bergerac.

The Dordogne is a stunning region in southwest France that is a favorite with the British, but not so highly talked about in the American press. So if you don’t know the area and you love history, you’re in for a treat. (see cmt for full story👇)
