In a nutshell: The Happy Hamlet is a unique location in the sunny southwestern French countryside. A special hideaway ideal for various important occasions, private or business. You can come by yourself for one of our wellbeing retreats (yoga, pilates, cooking, w**e, writing, creative…), organise a retreat to your students, enjoy a private retreat with a group of friends (we have fab instructors in our network for you to choose from!), rent the property for holidays with friends and/or family, bring your team for work&pleasure or remote office, invite your business clients to a special treat, organise a wedding, anniversary or bachelor party, and so on… We think imagination would most likely be the only limit! Let us help you make dreams come true and create memories that will last for a lifetime.

The Happy Hamlet est situé dans la campagne jolie et ensoleillée du sud-ouest de la France. Une région étonnante, idéale pour beaucoup d’occasions diverses, privées ou professionnelles. Laissez-nous vous aider à réaliser vos rêves et contribuer à vous créer des souvenirs qui dureront toute une vie. Vous pouvez venir seul pour l’une de nos retraites de bien-être (yoga, pilates, cuisine, vin, écriture, création…), organiser une retraite pour vos élèves, profiter d’une retraite privée avec un groupe d’amis (nous avons des instructeurs fabuleux dans notre réseau parmi lequel vous pouvez choisir !), louer la propriété pour des vacances entre amis et/ou en famille, amener votre équipe pour le travail et le plaisir ou un bureau à distance, inviter vos clients d’affaires pour un événement spécial, organiser un mariage, un anniversaire ou un enterrement de vie de garçon ou jeune fille, et ainsi de suite… Votre imagination est notre seule limite !

Awwww 💕 Now this is going to be a nostalgic week❣️

Not only, because one of our guests is a third time returning one, but because this time she brought along her dearests to celebrate their 50’s! 🥳🥳🥳 I had this same sweet opportunity last year (not in the Hamlet though as that would not have been what one calls a relaxing holiday for me 😅). Those memories are just pure 🪎💎💫

It’s so so lovely to see friends since childhood just chat away and chill, careless of everything and taking all their time to be TOGETHER - one of the most precious things in life, in my opinion 🥰

What a S💕W💕E💕E💕T week !!!

We started our last stretch of fall retreats without helping hands (due to a few cancellations for good reasons), and I will not lie to you, I was a bit stressed about it.

Yet what happened this week was a miracle, to say the least, because I almost felt as retreating myself 🙌🙌

Relaxed and effortless and graceful 🥰

It is all owed to Kaisu Ohra-aho and Kirsi Tolvas who just make being around them extremely peaceful and calm 💚 Not to mention all our other guests who were so genuinely kind and thankful for everything 🫶

No one will confirm, but we’re almost sure the Hamlet was born under some very lucky stars 💫🌟✨

🤭 Confession time: Last week wasn’t about retreats or rentals, yet the Hamlet was full of laugh and singing, and emotional moments with absolutely beautiful souls!

That is because one of us turns 60 today (you may guess which one! 😉) and it was the most perfect reason to have family & friends from near and far spend several days ”chez nous”! 🥳🥳🥳

It is one of the downside of the happy story of the hamlet, that getting together with the closest ones is rather challenging. And that is why the past few days felt really really special 🥰

Thankful for all the sweet moments together and precious memories we’ll keep forever 🙏💕

The birthday boy got tons of hugs and kisses and presents - but so did I, a (belated) surprise gift for my bday, song written by Nico and sung by all our guests at night on the terrace under the starry sky 💫 Any girl would shed a tear or two for that 😭

Merci infiniment darling friends, you are so much appreciated and just pure 💎💎💎

😍 Joie de Vivre - Joy of life 🥰

(we only know it in the Hamlet the way the French do - and it seems that our guests enjoy it to the 💯💯💯)

Sweet sunshine & Good vibes ALL WEEK - Book clubs & Discussions lead by Maija-Riitta Mustonen - Cooking workshops & Delicious meals by Teresa Välimäki - Yoga & Relaxation by the pool with Leena Honkajuuri (well and a foolish dog involved sometimes, too 😂) - Singing & Stargazing at night - W**e tasting at the vineyard & Lavender farm / Soap atelier visit - Long breakfasts & Dinners al fresco - Farmers’ market & Medieval village - Moissac monastery & Brocante - Happy peeps & Many laughs - Some rather mysterious events 🤔😜 - Oh, and a few fresh figues still found in the garden to enjoy at the farewell lunch 🥂😋

A HUGE MERCI to you all Lovely Ladies, we hope you return home with recharged batteries & tons of precious memories 🙏❣️

Such a sweet reminder of how quite simple things can make life quite joyful 💫💕🍀

Guess what?! 😮

The Hamlet is not happy!

It’s the Happiest! 🍀🍀

(on a side note: do you think we should change our name..? 😉)

That is said and judged by the fact that we just posted about an absolutely wonderful retreat last week with ONLY returning guests 💕 - and now on the contrary we welcomed ONLY firstcomers this week.

Yet the week first getting to know each other and then sharing time together was just absolutely beautiful, too 💚 We cannot be anything else than really happy (and super humble and touched), again! 🙏🫶🙏🫶

The only returning friends were Tuula Tulla , the fab instructor, and Anu Kattilakoski, our precious precious helping hands - both returning, for their fifth and forth time! We cannot believe our luck of having these lovely souls and special creatures around us time and again! 🥰

This past week was about wellbeing in its fundamental sense. Tuula’s practice (enough soft but just right hard and at all times inspiring, sometimes experienced with furry friends 😜), 2 x birthday celebrations with some bubbly, some ”me-time”, some pool-time, many long meals and tons of disusssions, several walks with the doggies, a few visits in the region, and (of course!) some of that French ”joie de vivre” in between everything else 🥳

Pure goooooodness - as life should be (if you ask us)! 😘

It’s always super sweet when we can greet one or more returning guests in a retreat - and we’re quite lucky, because this happens in almost every retreat nowadays 🥳 It takes off a few butterflies in the stomach at arrivals, not to mention the joy of welcoming familiar faces and precious smiles 🤩

However, I now know that there is something even more special and overwhelming, and that is when the whole group of 11 wonderful women are returning ones!! A common quote in travel industry is ”Your Home Away from Home”. It may be a bit overused - but when these guests arrived last week it really felt that they all came back HOME 💚💚💚

Touched and moved by the opportunity to have ”once strangers now dear Hamlet friends” around. Extraordinary and beautiful souls, with whom everything flows naturally and ”la vie est très belle” 💕 And ironically, the writing retreat had quite a few incidences and surprises, I’d say one could write a book or two only about those experiences 😂😂

And the icing on the cake? There are two❣️❣️

🫶 We had the pleasure of spending two weeks with dear Annakaisa Anttila, our first ever helping hands in 2018 - and it’s like nothing’s changed in between, she still feels like a member of the Hamlet family! Thank you for EVERYTHING!! 🙏🙏😘😘

🫶 My soulsister Katja Kallio was here for her 12th time already (and it doesn’t end there, we’re going to be still counting!) ❤️ Pure bliss, every single time with you 🙏🙏😘😘

🥰 About last weekend...

Given the nature of our lifestyle, it’s a rather rare treat that I get to see my parents. Typically a few times a year when they drive all the way from Finland to the Hamlet (and further on to catch the first or last summer moments in the south). Three times it is, if we meet up with the whole family, usually somewhere in Africa, wherever my goofy sister happens to have her home based (working on saving nature and the world 💚). Although she wasn’t with us this time we’ve had some great (and crazy) adventures together in the past - and many more I hope in the future 💕

I can only be proud and super happy, that at their age they can still pull off the long drive (almost 2000 km!), and are always eager to do so! 🙏 Happy reunions and sweet moments together 😍 And this time we got to celebrate Matti’s 78th birthday!!! 🥳🤩🥂

So even if in the busiest season and in the hassle of cleaning and preparing between retreat groups, one will - and should! - always find time to spend with the closest ones! ❤️

💕 Our *Absolutely Fabulous* last week was about...

Reuniting with dear old friends. Making new beautiful friends. Creativity. Reading and discussing literature. Walks and runs and hikes with wagging tails. Yoga and massages. Vineyard visit and w**e tasting. Pool and petanque. Naps and hammock time. Long meals and good laughs. Sweet pinkish sunset skies followed by stunning stars. Oh, and more wagging tails 😂

But most importantly, it was about being surrounded by pure goodness and some very beautiful souls 🙏🫶🙏🫶🙏

Nothing more than huge gratitude to these Lovely Ladies with whom we got to share our home - and many precious moments ❤️

What a beautiful way to start the fall retreat season - and what a precious reminder of why we love to do what we do 🥰

We’re thankful for our group from Switzerland (with a twist of American and Indian and a Finnish VIP visiting the Hamlet already for her 4th time!! 😍). For the smiles, the neverending kind words, and the gooood vibes we’ve been surrounded with all week!

We hope our season will continue in such a warm and wonderful ambiance 🍀💫

Thank you Jade for trusting your first ever retreat to be held in the Hamlet ❤️❤️❤️ And merci to all the special souls for being here and making the Hamlet as happy as it can be 🙏😘

We’ve been dusting the spiderwebs* and polishing the Hamlet for our FIRST FALL SEASON RETREAT GUESTS arriving any minute!! 🤩 Summer rentals are behind us and we’re back to retreats 🤸🏽‍♀️ Ready to rock’n roll with all the exciting program scheduled from now until mid-November (tip: there are still some spots left in some of the weeks should you need a little getaway and spoiling!) 💫🍀💕

And although we say ”fall season”, truth said it’s still very much summer around here: heatwave is gone (for now at least), pool refreshing, birds and crickets chirping! Hope our guests will enjoy everything as much as we do 😎🙌🥰

* Except for this beauty that I would and will not touch - I’ve been staring at it every time I get a chance. Nature wonders that never cease to amaze me! So so pretty, isn’t it..? 😍
