Par une sombre journée dans les eaux froides de la Manche eut lieu un acte odieux ! Un navire osa singer l'avancée velique alors qu'il était mû par une propulsion gasolique !
Et notre pauvre Batata perdit injustement 5 précieuses minutes sur sa course.
Blasphème !

On a somber day in the cold waters of the English Channel, a heinous act took place! A vessel dared to mimic the movement of a sailing craft while being powered by a diesel engine! And our poor Batata was unfairly robbed of 5 precious minutes in her race. Blasphemy!

On raconte toujours les beaux moments de navigation, mais il a aussi des moments de panique totale en mer, l'impression de vivre un véritable cauchemar. Rendez-vous compte : tous ces petits nœuds de huit mal faits qui profite de notre dos tourné pour se défaire par eux-même !!!!

People always talk about the wonderful moments of sailing, but there are also times of total panic at sea - the feeling of living a real nightmare. Just imagine: all those poorly tied figure-eight knots taking advantage of our backs being turned to come undone all by themselves!

1/ - Ok, let's go! I'm fed up with this anchorage. Let's go scout out a spot to beach the boat at the next low tide!

2/ - There is a spot for us between this white mooring buoy and this jetty. We'll be able to find our way aound at the high tide thanks to it.
- Now that’s a superbly executed grounding! We can give ourselves a pat on the back!

3/ - Damn it, where on earth did that blasted white buoy go?

We can still congratulate ourselves! Let's acknowledge the effort, at any rate.
Note: don't rely on the small white buoys.
