Award - The readers of the French magazine Propriétés Le Figaro have voted Saint-Raphael in the Var as the most attractive seaside town in the country.
22.51 percent said that they would like to buy property in Saint Raphael with Cap-Ferret on the other side of the Bay of Arcachon in second place with 22.22 percent.
Le Lavandou was third most popular with 21.35 percent but Saint Tropez was down in 9th place overall.

On top of how terrible the situation can be itself, how terrible can some people act? Cyber attacks?..WTF?!?!?!

Covid - According to figures published by Public Health France there were 19,590 new cases of Covid identified on Tuesday 16th February with 1,857 new admissions to hospitals.
In addition, there were 352 new deaths bringing the total to 82,812 deaths since the start of the epidemic (including 58,578 in hospital).
496 contaminations per 100,000 inhabitants are observed on the French Riviera.

Some French hospitals struggling with the coronavirus epidemic have recently been victims of cyber-attacks crippling information systems as criminals exploit hospitals already under pressure to demand ransoms in exchange for returning the systems to normal.

Now HOW SICK IS THAT...?! 😥🤒

Nice Carnival - Despite the Carnival de Nice being cancelled organisers are still marking the season with a display on the Place Massena in Nice. It includes a giant papier-mâché Coronavirus, who may consider itself the King of Carnival, but following tradition, will be burnt live online for all to see on February 27th.

Hope you are all safe and healthy. ❤️

Travelling is challenging in this world we live in today.
Anyway, the world is not further than around the next corner, its here and now.
We might not be able to travel other than to ’our neighbourhood’ in our own countries, this summer,
finding all great places next door we did not know about.

But..Frejus/StRaphael is also ’someones neighbourhood’😉

France’s oldest doctor continues to work through the lockdown in France. 98-year-old Dr Christian Chenay has continued to carry out his work despite the danger of Covid-19 for someone of his age. Dr Chenay is still making weekly trips to a retirement home to provide support and says his decision to keep working is partly down to France’s shortage of local family doctors.
