We had a visit from Darryl Miles yesterday after he’d done a viewing for another house in the village. He’s the Estate Agent that we bought our property through. For the record, we have zero interest in moving from our little piece of French paradise, but Darryl asked if he could do a short feature to show what we’d bought - and of course to mention the availability of gîte accommodation if anyone is house hunting nearby.

With thanks to Mike Thomas of Normandie Artisan, both of the bathrooms in Lavender gîte had a major makeover just before Christmas. Both bathrooms were removed. We changed the layout in both cases and have replaced with a clean, fresh new look. We’re rather pleased with the finished result and think that our guests will be too!

We normally get last minute bookings for New Year, and are very grateful that Mike was able to complete the work before taking a well earned Christmas break!

It’s been a busy few weeks of change at Les Gites De Meterville. Rose has got a shiny new bathroom, which was professionally installed by Mike Thomas of Artisan (and just needs us to buy and install a new heated towel rail and mirror to go above the sink).

Meanwhile, we’ve planted a fabulous row of lavenders outside Lavender gîte (with a little help from Alison!). The lavenders still need to be mulched and a border will be installed - but we are on target to have that job done before our guests start arriving for D-day.

Orchid’s garden has also had a makeover, with the fencing having had a coat of black paint and new planters installed.
