Happy Easter everyone. If you managed to get away we hope you had a fantastic time. Maybe now is the time to start thinking about what you will be doing in the summer. Our little French cottage is an ideal location to enjoy some fantastic attractions, situated just 35 mins from Limoges Airport and 2 hours away from the west coast of France. Look out for our upcoming posts of things to do on a 2 week break to Lesignac Durand.

I'm offering to rent our 2 bedroom house in South West France.
It's in a little village called Lesignac Durand and is in the Charante region. The local airports are Limoges and Angouleme. Limoges is 40 minutes away and is serviced from Nottingham's East Midlands Airport.

Our house is recently refurbished and is fully equipped with all the daily essentials including washer dryer, oven, kettle, toaster, fridge freezer, heating, wifi, games console and scooters for the kids.

Lesignac Durand is village of 300 and sits on Lac Chaban in the heart of the Charante region. The lake is used by fishermen and can't be used for motorised sports. But less than 5 miles away is Lac Lavaud which has an English bar, sandy beach and boating.

Elsewhere in the area are many inexpensive horse riding centers where you can trek through the countryside on horseback. For more adventure there is an adventure parc less than 2 miles from the house where you can climb trees.

Anguoleme is a University City and is around 45 minutes away. It's a stylish French city with museums, parks, eating and major shopping centers.

The main airport for this region is Limoges which is around 40 minutes away from the house and has links to Nottingham on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Around 2 hours away is the resort of La Rochelle with its sandy beaches on the Altlantic coast. There is a fantastic sea life center and aquarium here.

Also there is Royanne Zoo which is around 2 hours away. This is one of the most fantastic zoos in France and has a huge collection of exotic birds.
