We love using the original bread oven in the kitchen, it’s incredible to me that there were people cooking here during the turbulent times of the French Revolution.
We have cooked mainly pizzas, but also a large joint of meat. The kitchen is great for cooking together, we have availability in July, why not plan a holiday with your friends, we can accommodate up to eighteen people!

Are you planning a big family or friends get together next summer? Consider Rural France, we have a wonderful pool, large kitchen with pizza oven, space for eighteen people plus. You will have the space to yourself. There are bikes and table tennis in the barn.There is space for the children to explore and play. Why not make a plan to meet up and reconnect with loved ones in a wonderful place!

Our Story

Our story started with a desire to find a holiday home that was large enough for our family. We had stayed in rentals in the past with the right amount of bedrooms, but the living space meant we had to take turns to sit in the armchairs!

We found a wonderful building that had been empty and neglected for several years, you would not believe the cobwebs. After lots of hard work by all the family and some wonderful friends we are very happy to now have a superb holiday home.

The rental is for large groups and families in the small hamlet of Doumailhac, in the centre of the Périgord-Vert Natural Park. We have tried to furnish it with comfortable sofas/furnishings that are in keeping, but not precious/antique so that parents can relax.

The priority has been to refurbish the pool area, which is now heated and safely enclosed. We also have re-structed the barn to provide a games area. We have a number of bikes, table tennis and badmington. We have a regular and a weber BBQ. Each year we try to improve the property, by listening to feedback from our wonderful guests.
