Cider Barn Gite

We are raring to go with this season's brocante buying trips. The first big antique market in our diary is usually Lisieux in Mid March. This year we will be exploring some other venues so we can pass on our tips to you when you come to France.
Our rustic gite is perfectly placed as a base for access to the brocantes and vide greniers of Normandy, Brittany and Pays de la Loire, as well as monthly antique trade markets such as Le Mans, Granville and Chartres.

The bedroom at the Cider Barn gite is ready for guests this autumn.
The comfy superking sized bed is dressed with luxury pure cotton bedding.
For friends and relatives travelling together the bed can be split into twin singles if required.
The bedroom has heating and a large en-suite with walk-in shower.
Doorways are wide throughout the property if guests need to use a wheelchair.
The windows in the bedroom look out over the sun terrace and to the side, across the private garden towards the river valley.

Bookings being taken for November and the festive season, through to spring, Easter and the summer holidays.

Autumn is just the perfect time to enjoy an evening dip in the hot tub, and our eco-friendly wood fired tub here at the cider barn gite is located in its own private garden area. You can relax in the quiet serenity of the countryside and watch the sunset, before lying back to do a spot of stargazing. Our nights are incredibly dark, we are far away from light pollution, so your panoramic view of the night sky is astonishing. Balm for the soul.
if you would like to book a mini rural retreat, our gite is available for two night bookings or longer stays, from late October right through the autumn and winter season.

The gite has a large lounge and dining area, with fully equipped kitchen. The bedroom with ensuite facilities has a superking bed or can be configured for twin beds if required. Wide doorways and a ramp to the entrance terrace mean that we are wheelchair friendly.

Our charming petite holiday cottage has been sympathetically converted from the farm workers accommodation here at Le Haut Boulay.
The self contained cottage provides a bedroom which sleeps 2 either in twin singles or in a superking size bed, and there is a shower room en-suite. A large lounge and dining area is decorated in rustic style, with antique furniture and accessories taken from the adjacent Cider Barn Brocante. Should you fall in love with anything, you can purchase most items to take home with you! And a browse around the brocante barns during your stay is an absolute must.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all mod cons including combination microwave with oven and grill, halogen hob, fridge with a freezer box for your ice and icecreams, and a dishwasher. Juxtaposed happily alongside the contemporary elements of the kitchen are antique pieces including a French buffet dresser with open shelves above.
The accommodation is all on one level and the doorways are wide, providing an accessible environment for those guests with mobility issues.
The exterior of the cottage features a large tiled sun terrace, with steps and a ramp giving access to the parking area, and a private garden to the side of the cottage which has a wonderful luxury, a wood fired eco hot tub!
Sun loungers, table and chairs, and a chimenea are provided so that you can take advantage of the beautiful countryside throughout the seasons.
Our location is very rural, this is a real get away from it all retreat in peaceful surroundings, accessed from a private lane. There is no passing traffic apart from the occasional tractor and the only sounds you are likely to hear are the wildlife and farm animals. Our night skies can be quite spectacular as there is no light pollution.

The kitchen area at the cider barn gite is equipped with all mod cons including combination microwave/oven/grill, halogen hob, fridge with freezer box, and a dishwasher! The rustic surroundings include vintage lighting and an antique French buffet cupboard with open shelves above, and the decoration features reclaimed beams, stone walls and traditional terracotta tomettes on the floor.
