La Vele is a spacious, 4 bedroom converted barn with large garden and pool near Gaillac, Midi-Pyrenees, South West France - perfect for holiday rentals.

La Vele is a spacious, 4 bedroom Gite which sleeps up to 8/10 people, just under 1hr from Toulouse. Situated in a small hamlet on the edge of the village of Le Verdier, it is surrounded on three sides by fields, vineyards and a copse. The converted 200-year-old limestone barn features many exposed beams and provides a large and restful living space of nearly 2,000 square ft. The 2-acre garden cont

ains the child-secure 12x6m swimming pool within a large, secluded tiled terrace with barbecue area, pool abri, sun-loungers and sunshades. The garden offers spacious lawns, a field for children’s games and places of welcome shade during the summer months. Set in peaceful, undulating countryside famous for its 130+ vineyards, this area is also known for its medieval hilltop ‘bastide’ villages and spectacular views. There are local leisure and sporting activities in abundance, whilst Albi is only 30 mins and Toulouse, France’s 4th largest city, is just under a one hour drive. La Vele is also only a couple of hours drive to both the Mediterranean coast and the Pyrenees. Offering an enclosed pool, large garden, comfortable living and flexible sleeping accommodation, it is an ideal base for a family or group holiday in this beautiful part of South West France.

Chateau de Penne - this medieval castle, perched high on a stony outcrop above Penne, is slowly being renovated and was a great place for the boys to visit. They would have loved to be there for the Medieval Festival!
