Why Australia Is on Our 2027 Hot List 🇦🇺

Australia feels very right for 2027.

It has so much of what people are looking for right now: big landscapes, wildlife, beaches, brilliant food, cities, road trips and proper adventure. Every trip can look completely different.

There’s also a practical reason to look again now. New air access is making it easier to get there, and the Rugby World Cup in 2027 gives us another great excuse to build a bigger trip around a major sporting event.

For families, couples or anyone wanting a proper adventure, Australia really does have a bit of everything.

It’s a big trip, so it pays to plan it properly, but that’s also part of the appeal 🤍

The Wild West with Founders Holly & Philippa 🇺🇸

Part 1: Jackson Hole

We’ve always been drawn to this part of the US, particularly Philippa, who was completely horse-mad growing up.

With more guests asking for adventure holidays, ranch stays and riding trips, we wanted to see for ourselves why the Wild West is having such a moment. A certain Mr Costner may have helped a little too. 😉

Jackson Hole in summer completely delivered - there is so much to do: hiking, biking, rafting, river walks, bear and moose spotting, rodeos (a must!), museums, galleries, far too fabulous shopping, farmers’ markets, great restaurants and some seriously good burgers. Add actual cowboys and cowgirls, the legendary Million Dollar Cowboy Bar and Yellowstone on your doorstep, and you quickly understand the appeal.

We stayed with some wonderful F&P guests who gave us the best local insight, before heading into Yellowstone, then on to two nights under canvas in Paradise Valley and a final night in Big Sky.

It makes for an incredible summer adventure and, of course, a brilliant ski trip too. Two completely different ways to experience this extraordinary part of the world.

🇮🇸 The F&P Hot List 2027: Iceland

Our 2027 Hot List is building and we’re seeing some exciting themes and destinations emerging.

We thought we’d start with one that we’ve been championing for years – Iceland. It is so exciting to see more and more of our guests discovering just how extraordinary it is.

24 hours at Ballyfin... and it was everything we'd imagined, and more.

We'd heard so much about this iconic Irish hotel over the years that my husband and I couldn't wait to experience it for ourselves. Safe to say, it exceeded every expectation.

Stepping through the doors feels like stepping back in time. Grand yet wonderfully intimate, every detail has been so thoughtfully considered – from the beautifully restored interiors, the plumpest of cushions and bedrooms with every thoughtful extra, to the wellies waiting for muddy walks, bicycles, rowing boats, picnic baskets and vintage buggies ready to explore the 600-acre estate. There's even a costume department where guests can dress in period costume for dinner or photographs!

The tasting menu was a real highlight, as was the warm, intuitive service that makes you feel less like a hotel guest and more like you've been invited into someone's extraordinary country home.

Whether you're looking for the perfect couples' escape or an unforgettable stop as part of a wider journey through Ireland or the UK, Ballyfin is one of those rare places that stays with you long after you've left.
