Bright and airy studio apartment sleeping up to 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children in a quiet, centrally located block in LES HOUCHES, Chamonix valley. Perfect for skiing and summer walking. Our apartment is a bright and airy second floor studio with SW facing balcony in a quiet area, with lovely views from the windows and balcony. It sleeps up to 3 adults or 2 adults/ 2 children in a double bed

settee in the living room and 2 bunk beds in a bed alcove, ie there is a reasonable amount of privacy between the two sleeping areas. There is a bathroom with bath, shower and toilet. The multi functional living room has a bedsettee, kitchen and dining areas. The kitchen area has a fridge, two hotplates, kettle, toaster and all cooking equipment. Also raclette set and slow cooker. There is a fold down dining table and 4 chairs. The space is used very efficiently but is small, ie the table has to be folded away for the bedsettee to be made into a bed, so please be aware that although the apartment sleeps 4 it is more comfortable for 2 guests! There is a small ski locker downstairs.

With the sun not reaching this area of Les Houches for around 6 weeks in midwinter due to being overshadowed by the massive Mt Blanc, it is always exciting to see the sun reaching the garden!

Phew that's been a busy few days. Replaced a wobbly chair with a new bedside cabinet (sounds simple but involves going to the shop then depot, bringing cabinet back on the bus, up 2 flights of stairs then building it!). Bought a new lamp, new pillows and pillow protectors, new single duvets, and new bedding for double bed. Removed all packaging to the recycling area several streets away. And started on repainting the flat! Holiday anyone?

One of our favourite walks at this time of year is the start of the Col de Tricots walk, starting from the top of the Bellevue cable car. It's a fabulous place to see the Alpine flowers and enjoy the views of Mt Blanc.

There is an official start gate to the Tour de Mont Blanc about 100m from the flat. You really couldn't stay much closer to the start point!
