In just a few days, I’ll be visiting Notre-Dame du Puy-en-Velay, and I can’t wait to explore its mysteries!

The basilica sits high atop Mount Anis, a place considered sacred across different cultures and through the ages. But there is so much more to discover than its magnificent architecture and famous Black Madonna.

Look closely, and you’ll find some unexpected details, including a mermaid and even the Hand of God! What stories do these intriguing figures hold? And what might they reveal about the layers of history and beliefs woven into this sacred place?

I wonder what other secrets are waiting for me to uncover. I’ll be sharing my discoveries along the way!

✨ Two Virgins. One sacred place. And so many mysteries to explore. ✨

At Notre-Dame de Marsat in Auvergne, I discovered these two representations of the Virgin: a Black Madonna and a Virgin in Majesty.

The more I research these ancient sacred images, the more fascinated I become. Both sit upon the Throne of Wisdom, with Christ on their lap. Their hands are often depicted as unusually large, and their garments adorned in gold.

But what interests me goes beyond their appearance.

Could these images share more than an artistic tradition? When I explore their history, I find myself drawn to the deep, earthy energy associated with these sacred places, their healing traditions, and the miracles attributed to them over the centuries.

What did people experience when they came here to pray? What made certain statues so revered? And what might we still discover about the places where they have been venerated for centuries?

In just a couple of days, our tour begins, and I can’t wait to uncover more of the stories, mysteries, and traditions surrounding the Black Madonnas of Auvergne.

I’m also looking forward to experiencing these places more consciously and exploring what they might offer on my own healing journey. 💛

Some pilgrimages are different.

You don’t go on them only to guide others. You go because something in you is also asking to be healed.

In a few days, we begin our Black Madonna Tour, a pilgrimage I’ve been looking forward to for months. Of all the tours we lead, this is the one I experience as the most transformative.

There is something about the Black Madonna that feels profoundly deep, earthy, and powerful. In my experience, her energy draws us down into the body, opening the feet chakras, clearing the channels of the legs, and bringing energy into the pelvis. She connects us to something ancient, grounded, and deeply embodied.

This year, I feel called to work consciously with the Black Madonna for my own healing.

In the past, people travelled to sacred places in the hope of being healed. They came carrying their prayers, their pain, and their longing for transformation.

This time, I, too, will be making that journey.

I don’t know what will unfold, and perhaps that’s part of the beauty of a pilgrimage. We arrive with our intentions, but we cannot know what the sacred will ask of us—or what it might give in return.

We shall see what the Black Madonna brings. 😉

A little about the Madonna we will visit:

Notre-Dame d’Orcival is one of the remarkable surviving Black Madonnas traditionally dated to the 12th century. Carved from walnut wood, she has watched over generations of pilgrims, holding her quiet presence through the centuries.

And soon, we will be there with her.

This time, I delve into solar geometry and the ways the ancient Egyptians worked with celestial alignments, sacred waters, and geometry to shape sacred space during the Middle Kingdom under Senusret I.

The deeper I explore these ancient principles, the more fascinating the relationship between architecture, the cosmos, and the divine becomes. Researching this series has been a real joy, opening up new ways of thinking about how the Egyptians understood creation and expressed it through sacred space.

A little trip down memory lane…

I was going through my photos and came across this one from our last in-person certification class!

One of the final things we do together is design and build a labyrinth. This one was created right on the beach

The beauty of a beach labyrinth? It’s easy to create… but the tide will eventually wash it away!

Perhaps a beautiful reminder that not everything needs to last forever to be meaningful.

But building a labyrinth is about so much more than drawing a path in the sand.

During this final class, students explore the importance of finding a powerful center point, understanding directions, and choosing a design that reflects the energy or elements they want to work with.

Every choice has meaning, and the center is an especially important part of the process, holding the intention and healing potential of the labyrinth.

There’s something special about creating something with intention, walking its path, and then allowing nature to take it back.

The Healing and Feeling Equinox Tour was a big hit!

Working with the powerful energies of the menhirs was ideal to help learn how to heal the body.

The stones helped open and deepen perceptions, so energy work was much easier.
