The Major Oak is an ancient English oak (Quercus robur) located in Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire, England. Famous for its association with the Robin Hood legend, it boasts a trunk circumference of 33 feet (10 m) and a canopy spread of 92 feet (28 m). Sadly, Experts confirmed that the 1,200-year-old Major Oak in Sherwood Forest has died after failing to sprout leaves in the spring 2026.
