📷 Samedi 30 mai, l'Office de tourisme de la Communauté de Communes du Cap Corse organisait la 3ᵉ édition d’𝐄𝐯𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐚 𝐮 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐮, une journée consacrée à l’olivier au cœur du village d’Ogliastru.

☀️ Une journée particulièrement chaude qui a rencontré un beau succès auprès des participants

🙏 Merci à tous d’être venus partager avec nous ces moments de découverte, d’échange, de convivialité et de transmission autour d’un patrimoine qui façonne depuis des siècles les paysages et l’identité du Cap Corse.

Cette journée n’aurait pas été possible sans l’implication de nombreux partenaires.

📷 Saturday May 30, the Tourist Office of the community of communes of Cap Corse organized the 3rd edition of 𝐄𝐯𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐚 𝐮 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐮, a day dedicated to the olive tree in the heart of the village of Ogliastro.

☀️ A particularly hot day that was a great success with the participants.

🙏 Thank you all for coming to share these moments of discovery, exchange, conviviality, and knowledge sharing with us, centered around a heritage that has shaped the landscapes and identity of Cap Corse for centuries.

📍 Monte Stellu

Longtemps considéré comme le toit du Cap Corse, le Monte Stellu a perdu son titre… détrôné de quelques mètres par la Cima di e Follicie selon de nouvelles mesures topographiques.

👀 Mais une chose reste intacte : son panorama spectaculaire.

Dressé sur la ligne de crête qui sépare les deux versants du Cap Corse, le Monte Stellu (1307 m) offre une immersion saisissante entre mer et montagne.

Depuis les hauteurs, le regard embrasse les Agriates, la Balagne, le Monte Cinto, le Monte Grossu… et les deux rivages du Cap qui se dévoilent simultanément.

🥾 L’ascension peut se faire notamment au départ du hameau de Pozzu, à travers venelles pavées, maquis parfumé, anciens moulins, bergeries oubliées et sentiers suspendus au-dessus des vallées.

⛰️ Et puis vient le sommet.
Un vaste balcon ouvert à 360° sur le Cap Corse, ses villages accrochés aux pentes, ses montagnes qui plongent dans la mer et, par temps clair, l’impression que toute la Corse s’étend à l’infini.

📍 Monte Stello

Long considered the highest peak in Cap Corse, Monte Stello has lost its title… dethroned by a few meters by Cima di e Follicie, according to new topographical measurements.

👀 But one thing remains unchanged: its spectacular panorama.

Standing on the ridge line that separates the two sides of Cap Corse, Monte Stello (1307 m) offers a breathtaking immersion between sea and mountain.

From its heights, the view encompasses the Agriates, the Balagne, Monte Cinto, Monte Grosso… and both shores of the Cap, which unfold simultaneously.

🥾 The ascent can be made in particular from the hamlet of Pozzo, winding through cobbled lanes, fragrant maquis shrubland, old mills, forgotten sheepfolds, and paths suspended above the valleys.

⛰️ And then comes the summit.

A vast balcony offering a 360° view of Cap Corse, its villages clinging to the slopes, its mountains plunging into the sea, and, on a clear day, the impression that all of Corsica stretches to infinity.

— pour la Santa Ghjulia

📆 Nonza est un haut lieu de dévotion à Sainte Julie.
Native du village, Sainte Julie aurait vécu au début du IVe siècle, sous le règne de Dioclétien.

✝️ Refusant d’abandonner sa foi, elle subit le martyre.

⛲ La tradition raconte que deux sources jaillirent de la roche là où ses bourreaux jetèrent ses seins coupés : les célèbres « fontaines des mamelles », encore visibles aujourd’hui en contrebas du village.

🙏 Très vite, un culte fervent se développa autour de la Sainte.
Des pèlerins venus de toute la Corse rejoignaient Nonza pour demander guérison et protection, notamment les jeunes mères.

Depuis 1809, Santa Ghjulia est l’une des patronnes de la Corse, aux côtés de Sainte Divota.

🐚 Au pied du village s’étend également la célèbre plage noire de sable et de galets, emblématique de Nonza. Sur la photo, vous pouvez admirer une œuvre de land art réalisée par Florence Arrighi, intitulée Sainte Julie dans son jupon de mer. ✨

La cérémonie de célébration et la procession auront lieu cette année samedi 23 mai à 11h, organisée par Cunfraternita Santa Ghjulia di Corsica

— for Santa Ghjulia

📆 Nonza is a major center of devotion to Saint Julia (May 22nd).
A native of the village, Saint Julia is said to have lived at the beginning of the 4th century, during the reign of Diocletian.

✝️ Refusing to abandon her faith, she suffered martyrdom.

⛲ Tradition recounts that two springs gushed from the rock where her executioners threw her severed breasts: the famous "fountains of the breasts," still visible today below the village.

🙏 Very quickly, a fervent cult developed around the Saint.

Pilgrims from all over Corsica came to Nonza to ask for healing and protection, especially young mothers.

Since 1809, Saint Julia has been one of the patron saints of Corsica, alongside Saint Divota.

🐚 At the foot of the village also lies the famous black sand and pebble beach, emblematic of Nonza. In the photo, you can admire a land art piece by Florence Arrighi, entitled “Sainte Julie dans son jupon de mer” (Saint Julie in her sea skirt). ✨

L’office de tourisme du Cap Corse et la mairie de Canari Village ont le plaisir de vous annoncer l’ouverture du musée samedi 16 mai 2026 !

Avez-vous déjà visité ce lieu unique, consacré à la mémoire du Cap Corse, à ses costumes traditionnels et à ses archives photographiques ?

🧵 Installé dans l’ancien couvent franciscain Saint François, fondé en 1506 et récemment restauré, le Conservatoire propose un véritable voyage dans le Cap Corse du XIXe siècle à travers une collection de costumes féminins et masculins reconstitués à l’identique par l’atelier couture de l’association Anima Canarese :

🪡 habits de servante, de villageois, robes de noces et tenues du quotidien témoignent de la richesse vestimentaire de notre territoire.

😮 L’exposition rappelle notamment une réalité souvent oubliée : les femmes du Cap Corse ne se sont pas toujours vêtues de noir !

🧿 Terre d’échanges et d’ouverture sur la Méditerranée, le Cap utilisait autrefois des tissus colorés, variés et importés, révélant toute la diversité des influences de l’époque.

🎞️ Le Conservatoire accueille également une importante photothèque consacrée à la vie de Canari et du Cap Corse, ainsi qu’un film documentaire autour de « l’enfer blanc », mémoire industrielle de la commune.

😉 Cette ouverture marque aussi le début d’un nouveau travail autour du patrimoine textile du Cap Corse, avec la préparation d’un futur Evviva consacré au tissu, aux savoir-faire et aux histoires qu’ils racontent. Nous aurons bientôt l’occasion de vous en dire davantage…

Have you ever visited this unique place, dedicated to the history of Cap Corse, its traditional costumes, and its photographic archives?

🧵 Housed in the former Franciscan convent of Saint Francis, founded in 1506 and recently restored, the Conservatory offers a true journey into 19th-century Cap Corse through a collection of women's and men's costumes, faithfully recreated by the Anima Canarese association's sewing workshop:

🪡 Servants' clothes, villager’s outfits, wedding dresses, and everyday attire bear witness to the rich sartorial heritage of our region.

😮 The exhibition also highlights a frequently forgotten fact: the women of Cap Corse didn't always dress in black!

🧿 A land of exchange and openness to the Mediterranean, Cap Corse once used colorful, varied, and imported fabrics, revealing the full diversity of influences of the era.

🎞️ The Conservatory also houses a significant photo library dedicated to the life of Canari and Cap Corse, as well as a documentary film about the "white hell," the town's industrial legacy.

😉 This opening also marks the beginning of new work on Cap Corse's textile heritage, with the preparation of a future Evviva dedicated to fabric, the skills involved, and the stories they tell. We'll have the opportunity to tell you more soon…

Located in the commune of Rogliano, this former 16th-century Genoese tower is one of the jewels of Cap Corse's heritage ✨

Nonza est sans doute l’un des plus anciens villages de Corse.

✍️ Si son existence est attestée dès 1109, le site est occupé depuis bien plus longtemps encore, comme en témoignent les peintures rupestres de la Grotta Scritta, datant du début du IIe millénaire avant notre ère.

🐚 Dominant le village, la tour de guet édifiée en 1760 sur ordre de Pascal Paoli veille encore sur le littoral. Depuis ce promontoire, le regard embrasse toute la façade occidentale du Cap Corse, un panorama spectaculaire sur sa plage noire de sable et de galets, iconique.

Nonza is undoubtedly one of the oldest villages in Corsica.

✍️ While its existence is documented as early as 1109, the site has been inhabited for much longer, as evidenced by the cave paintings of the Grotta Scritta, dating from the beginning of the 2nd millennium BC.

🐚 Overlooking the village, the watchtower, built in 1760 on the orders of Pascal Paoli, still watches over the coastline. From this promontory, the view encompasses the entire western coast of Cap Corse, on its iconic black sand and pebble beach.

🌸 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒈𝒐 𝒊𝒏 𝑴𝒂𝒚 :

Nonza is a major center of devotion dedicated to Saint Julia.
