Word of the day ….. melting

Oh my days it was like a furnace today over 40 degrees, when we stepped out of the van at our last park up before we catch up the family and we literally melted , We had been driving for a couple of hours or more with the air con on so it was a bit of a shock.
Anyway we made the most of it, managed to park in the shade by the lake, we had some wet t shirt competitions which was fun and drank some iced coffee.

Sat and waited for the eclipse, cold shower and wet pjs, so all good, linda even managed a bit of fishing

Looking forward to a family meet up so the pictures of our journey will slow down. Thank you to everyone that has been following our road trip, it’s been a blast

We had a lovely drive today though the Meouge Gorge into the Haute Alpes de Provence, after months of no rain the sunflower fields and lavender beds look sad, hardly any water in the rivers, although we managed to have a cool down in the river next to our park up in Montbrun-les-Bains which was gorgeous up to Mont Ventoux tomorrow and feeling excited 🚵‍♀️🚵‍♀️🚵‍♀️🚵‍♀️🚵‍♀️🚵‍♀️

We drove further south yesterday from the Mountains we are now into the land of rolling hills, valleys and sunflower fields, we nearly got caught out yesterday and came to cross a bridge that gave us a couple of cms either side but we just about managed it, all good fun 🚐.

We managed to get a spot in the shade as the heat was intense, had a lazy afternoon watching paragliders hang around Mont Aguille which is a famous landmark in this area, onwards today towards Mont ventoux and if your love the Tour de France you’ll know what I’m talking about 👍👍👍

A little stretch of the legs today took us up the the Cascade du Gade. We had a lazy afternoon before heading of to the Bighorn restaurant for some food, we’ve had a great time in Chamonix, tomorrow is our last full day, then Sue and Lisa head north and we head south, it’s been a blast
