🐟 Anjou Lake Catch Report – Martin & Andy 🇬🇧

What a week for Martin and Andy at Anjou Lake! 🔥

Fishing from 5th to 12th September, the two anglers put together a brilliant result:

👉 75 carp
⚖️ 2,380 lb total weight
🏆 Biggest: 45 lb 3 oz

And the quality of the fish really speaks for itself:

💥 10 carp over 40 lb
💪 33 carp between 30 and 40 lb

That means 43 carp over 30 lb during the week! 👏

But what’s particularly interesting is how they achieved it.

Martin and Andy kept the baiting deliberately light. Rather than putting large quantities of bait onto the spots, they introduced small amounts very regularly throughout the session.

The idea was simple: keep the carp visiting the spots and maintain feeding competition without overfeeding them.

And it worked… with bites coming consistently throughout the week and plenty of action at night too. 🌙

And don’t worry, we don’t hold it against you! 😄🐟

Quite the opposite, actually.

What a week on Morgane Lake for Glenn & Oliver Lunn! 👏

The pair enjoyed plenty of action throughout their stay, finishing the session with an impressive tally of 49 fish.

The carp fishing produced:

• 11 carp over 30lb, topped by a 38lb common
• 20 carp between 20lb and 28lb

But the catfish were undoubtedly one of the highlights of the week! 🔥

• 1 monster reaching the magical 100lb mark 💯
• 4 over 90lb
• 2 over 80lb
• 4 over 70lb, up to 76lb
• 3 over 60lb
• Plus fish of 57lb, 42lb, 30lb and a small 10lb catfish

💪 Some serious specimens there and no doubt some serious battles too!

A huge congratulations to Glenn and Oliver for a fantastic week, and especially for landing such an impressive collection of big catfish. 👏

🎣 Anjou Lake – Catch Report | 20th–26th August 2026

Another great week on Anjou Lake, this time for Tom Clark and his son! 👏

Despite the still sweltering summer temperatures, the lake is very much alive. Tom and his son adapted to the conditions, found the fish and put together a seriously impressive week.

The final tally says it all:

• 38 mirrors and commons up to 39lb
• 6 carp over the 40lb mark
• A cracking biggest carp of 46lb
• 19 grass carp joining the action!

🌰 The successful approach this week: particles + boilies... classical approach.

In these conditions, it’s not always about doing more – it’s about reading the lake, adapting your approach and finding the fish. Tom and his son did exactly that. 👌

🔥 Even with the heat, Anjou Lake continues to produce plenty of action and some cracking carp. Congratulations to both of them on a fantastic week!

🎣 Anjou Lake – Catch Report | Last Week of June 2026

A little late, but definitely worth sharing… Let’s look back at the last week of June at Anjou Lake, and what a week it was for DanAldridge and his friends! 👏🐟

Despite extremely hot weather and a real heatwave, the fish remained very active, with plenty of runs and catches throughout the session.

The action was remarkably consistent, including:

• A superb 46lb mirror
• Another beautiful mirror at 43lb 11oz
• Several fish over 30lb
• Plenty of carp between 20 and 30lb
• Several stunning grass carp
• And a few beautiful koi making an appearance and adding a splash of colour to the session! 😍

🌰 The interesting detail from this week: tiger nuts!

A great example of how, when conditions get tough, choosing the right bait and adapting your approach can really make the difference.

🔥 Heatwave or not, Anjou Lake delivered a week packed with action, consistent runs and a great variety of fish!

What a week for Steve & Ian on Morgane Lake! 👏🐟

Fishing during a period of intense summer heat is never easy. Long days, high temperatures and demanding conditions make every fish even more rewarding… but the fish were definitely in the mood to play!

The final result speaks for itself:

🎣 38 carp landed:
• 3 x 40lb+ to 42lb 12oz
• 2 x 35lb+ to 37lb 4oz
• 10 x 30lb+ to 34lb
• 19 x 20lb+ to 29lb 4oz
• 4 doubles

And the catfish were seriously active too… 💪

🔥 19 catfish landed:
• 2 x 90lb+ to a massive 98lb 4oz
• 3 x 80lb+ to 87lb 6oz
• 4 x 70lb+ to 73lb 3oz
• 6 x 60lb+ to 69lb 5oz
• 3 x 50lb+ to 58lb 6oz
• 1 x 45lb

Some serious battles in those temperatures!

The XL grass carp were also in great shape, adding even more excitement to an already action-packed week.

👏 Huge congratulations to Steve & Ian for keeping at it and producing such a strong result despite the challenging heat.

And a special thank you for the fantastic catfish photos. Big cats aren't always the easiest fish to handle and photograph well, so it's great to see them shown off properly!

🎣 Commons Lake – Weekly Catch Report | 8–15 August 2026

A great week on Commons Lake for Ben & Roxana, who showed exactly why adapting your approach to the conditions can make all the difference.

Fishing as a pair, they landed 16 fish during their stay, including some cracking carp:

• Biggest fish: 45lb 5oz
• A superb 44lb 14oz common
• Another beautiful common at 42lb 1oz
• Several quality 30lb+ carp throughout the week
• Plus a little variety with grass carp and a ghost carp

But one of the most interesting parts of their session was their bait strategy.

Ben & Roxana adapted to what was happening in front of them, with tiger nuts proving particularly effective as the week progressed. Plastic baits, including fake corn, also played their part.

🎯 Sometimes success isn't about sticking stubbornly to the original plan. It's about observing the lake, understanding how the fish are responding and being prepared to change tactics.

Their catch report says it all: tiger nuts produced fish after fish during the second half of the session.

A very nice result for just two anglers and a great example of how good decisions on the bank can turn a session around.

ℹ️ Worried about the heat? Here’s some “fresh” news from our lakes 🙂

👉🏼 We know that many UK anglers are concerned about the repeated heatwaves and what they could mean for their upcoming trips.

The good news is that, despite very hot conditions since May, the fishing remained more than respectable across our lakes last week. And here are the actual numbers:

🎣 Margot: 45 fish, including 5 x 40s, with the biggest at 47 lbs.

🎣 Commons: 12 fish, including 2 x 40s to 44 lbs and 5 x 30s to 38 lbs.

🎣 Morgane: 57 fish, including 3 x 40s to 42 lbs. The catfish were also very active, with 19 landed, including 2 x 90s to 98 lbs and 3 x 80s to 87 lbs! 💪

🎣 Lords: 14 fish, including a superb 64 lbs carp, plus 3 x 40s to 44 lbs. 🐋

💡 And there’s another bonus in these warm conditions: the grass carp are particularly active! They’re adding some serious excitement to the sessions and keeping anglers on their toes. 😅

✅ Of course, these are challenging conditions. And a lot of credit has to go to the anglers on the banks last week. They observed the water, adapted their strategies and techniques to the heat, and worked hard to find the right way to get the fish feeding.

Their efforts were well rewarded — and some very special fish ended up on the bank! 👏🏼🎣

Tiger nuts and plastic corn, for example, were often among the most effective options.

So if you’re joining us in the coming weeks, don’t let the temperatures worry you too much. Adjust your tactics, stay observant and keep things simple.

👌🏼 And there are already some very encouraging signs this week: as of Wednesday morning, more than 100 fish have already been landed across Margot, Commons, Lords and Morgane — with no anglers currently fishing Anjou!

The upcoming week looks much better for fishing conditions too: cooler temperatures both day and night, with even a few showers expected.

We’ve got the worst of the heat behind us… and the fish certainly haven’t stopped feeding!
