Oak Tree Gites are two gites in the south of the Charente in France. We offer quality accommodation in a beautiful setting with a range of facilities.

Oak Tree Gites are superbly situated on the Charente, Dordogne, Limousin borders to offer a fabulous region of France with all its attractions combined with the fantastic accommodation. The aims are to provide you with wonderful opportunities to build lasting memories with friends and family; so important in making a good holiday great. The location is so perfectly tranquil for rest and relaxation

with the stunning pool and its views. Situated at the top of the lane on a hill traffic noise is a real rarity. For those of a more active nature walking and cycling routes run from your front door – from easy to strenuous, rarely seeing another person or vehicle. The range of wildlife, flora and fauna, is immense with opportunities to see wild orchids, hoopoe birds and many other rarities. Local culture from chateaux, markets, stunning architecture in local villages and towns…a favourite treat is a local producers market banquet on a summers evening – all available within a short drive. Other activities within easy reach include kayaking, horse-riding, golf, go-karts, quad-bikes. Summer nights often mean barbeques but for those looking to eat out, a range of restaurants nearby to suit all budgets can be recommended. To entertain you whilst you are here then alongside the pool, there are 2 acres of grassland for games as well as table-tennis, boules, etc for your use. To give you the best experience there are continualchanges to improve and add to your holiday. The quality of the accommodation is high, and we strive to maintain things to that standard. Ways to get to Oak Tree Gites:

By air: Many UK airports to Limoges with transfer time of 40 mins to your gite. Alternatively Poitier, Bergerac have good services

By Train: St Pancras to Angouleme or Limoges - approx 7 hours

By car: St Malo 6 hrs, Cherbourg 7 hrs, Caen 5hrs 30 mins, Dieppe 7 hrs, Le Havre 6hr 30 mins, Calais 8 hrs

These three had been for a family swim in the pool!! Last couple of days before closing for the winter!!!

Bookings are steadily coming in for this season but we still have lots of opportunities for great holidays both peak summer and autumn.
We have made and are making changes and upgrades for the season.....pictures and stories to follow in the coming weeks.....but there's nothing as good as coming to see for yourself!

Writing a positive post in these times is a challenge...but I feel the light is coming on in the tunnel, and so I look forward to the future - meeting friends, catching up with returning and new guests and a summer with plenty of warmth and some laughter.

Family night at the local!

So excited! Our first Gites guests arrive later today. (4th time for lovely Dutch family!) We’ve worked really hard putting in extra measures to make it a safe place for all.
We feel very thankful to have bookings now throughout the summer from Belgians/Dutch/French and Welsh🤞- gonna be a very different summer.
Thank you to our “regulars” who have just postponed for now, but we know will be back soon...
