We had an exceptional time with Didi and Maarten at 14-18! We were looking for tours of WWI US battlefields because my great grandfather served in the US Army during WWI. I saw on Maarten’s website that he customizes tours to follow in the footsteps of units or individuals. I gave him a photocopy and transcript of the diary my great grandfather wrote while in the war. Maarten took us on an unbelievable tour where we literally stood in the places my great grandfather was. Maarten is clearly enthusiastic and knowledgeable about WWI and it shows in his research, his planning, and his teaching.
We also stayed at their B&B, which was beautiful. It provided to perfect base for our tour.
The museum Maarten has curated is truly top notch (and we say that after living by the US WWI museum). Didi is an amazing hostess and chef. We could not have dreamed of a better experience! Thank you so much!
