A dedicated ride out for the OMGC (Old Men Go Cycling) Club........ They sent me their jersey which I received yesterday! What better way to thank them than get their colors up to this legendary col summit. A bunch of fellas who come out to the Alps each year and "crack on wi'te job" and the challenges we throw at them each time. They should have been here this summer, but hey, things have changed. Here's to next years trip ol'boys 🤣..... The club is based in And have the as their hub! Thank you for the jersey (and the logo on the sleeves)..... Proud to be part of your club 🚴🏻▶️⛓🤙

Annual 1st accent of this classic........
We generally take this ride from Briançon riding up through the and the col du Lauteret before we arrive at the foot of this legendary climb. Although a night away from our hub finds us leaving Montgenèvre, direction Italy to conquer Mont Cenis. A nights stop over in Modane before we hit the Col du Télégraphe & Col du Galibier from Valloire. Both sides of this ascent very challenging and have featured numerous times in the Grand Tour Classics.

With fantastic weather and the announcement by regional gouv to allow activities on and around this beautiful lake this Bank Holiday Weekend..... We thought we'd take the opportunity to showcase this little beauty that we have in our route collection...... The tour of Lake Serre Ponçon. Although no major Cols involved. The 100kms tour we have sourced will bring us to over 2500m in elevation. Our ride starts / ends in Embrun, a hub of outdoor mountain activities. Stunning natural beauty as we have mixed and matched both waterside and hillside roads... The lake always in sight. A popular passage for both the TDF and Giro as the pros head / return to and from the Alpine Stages

IZOARD is OPEN! After 7weeks of The ChainLynx Cycle Cave(CCC) And certain cycling restrictions being lifted........ Found myself at the summit of this "little" beauty. A solo ride up to the summit on its opening day. I have to say it was the best ascent and descent of this legendary col....... No 🚙 No 🏍, even if I did have debut season legs 🤣 Wouldn't change it for the world. It's difficult times we've all found ourselves in but the cycling gods were with me today. Ride on! Big word up to the local council that have worked hard to open the col 9days before they thought they could!

As restrictions are been eased a little in our cycling regions, France & Italy (although we may not cross borders for now) We're going to be posting our local Cols and how they feature in our collection of rides, itineraries & The Grand Tours...

Countdown 10 days until we can solo ride out.... It's been a long grind here in the CCC (ChainLynx Cycle Cave) but there's light 💡 at the the end of the tunnel for us all.... Keep pedaling, keep safe and be positive. Ride on!! 🚴🏻👌⛓
