That’s a wrap on an extra-ordinary week… 🎬

Extra — ordinary.
Yes, both at once!

Ordinary… because we’re learning French.
Extraordinary… because we’re learning real French. The French of everyday life, not textbooks.

Morning → immersion classes: we work, we dig deeper, we question everything.

Lunchtime → we eat together, and that’s where the magic happens. The expressions from class naturally resurface in conversation, over a French specialty.

Afternoon → visits, discoveries, exchanges with locals. Everyday French, in real life.

And we do it all over again. Every day. Every hour counts.

What I love most about this format?
The time.
That precious time you never quite have enough of in regular classes — to reuse, rephrase, refine, and build fluency.

To go from “I’m searching for my words” to “I express myself naturally.”

In one week, my two learners experienced exactly that. 🙌
So yes — it was an absolutely EXTRAORDINARY week. ✨

🌿✨ WHAT DOES A TOTAL IMMERSION STAY ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE?

Here's a concrete glimpse of what I'm offering next week, from March 14 to 21, 2026 — and trust me, every single day is designed for you to improve your French WHILE HAVING FUN! 🎉

🗓 THIS WEEK'S PROGRAMME:
🟣 Monday → French class in the morning + Discovering the city of Montpellier in the afternoon 🏙️
🔴 Tuesday → A full day: classes, shared lunch, and a visit to a historic and seaside location ⛪🌊
🟡 Wednesday → A rich day: classes, lunch together, and a visit to an exceptional wine estate 🍷
🩵 Thursday → Morning classes + free afternoon for shopping 🛍️
🩵 Friday → Classes + lunch together, then a scenic hike to discover our beautiful landscapes 🌿

💡 Why does this format work so well?
Because learning French doesn't stop when you leave the classroom! You practice at every moment: at the market, at a restaurant, while exploring the most beautiful sites of Occitanie... The language becomes natural, fluid, alive. 🌞

I'm Clotilde, a French as a Foreign Language teacher, and I designed these stays so that every participant leaves with much more than knowledge: an unforgettable experience and real confidence in French. 💬🇫🇷

🧂 Expression of the day: "Mettre son grain de sel"

Nothing to do with cooking! 👨‍🍳

It means: to give your opinion without being asked, to meddle in a conversation

📝 Example: "We were talking quietly and he had to put in his two cents!"

💭 Nuance: Often used with a slightly negative connotation!

❓ What about you? Do you know someone who always puts in their two cents? 😉

🎬✨ Camille Cottin, the star of the César Awards night! ✨🎬

Last night at the Olympia, she was the one holding the reins of the 51st César ceremony… and she delivered a masterful performance, filled with laughter and emotion! 🙌

But who really is Camille Cottin? An actress like no other: funny, sharp, elegant, and able to play any role! 🎭

You may know her first from the cult series 🎬 Call My Agent! (2015-2020), where she plays Andréa Martel, a ruthless talent agent… but not without a heart! A series that takes us behind the scenes of French cinema with incredible guest stars.

I have to confess that I absolutely love this series! It’s such a great watch — you laugh, you get attached to the characters! A true favourite that I warmly recommend to all my students! 😄❤️

Last night, with her sharp humour and her passionate speech in defence of culture and French cinema, she proved once again that she is one of the most brilliant actresses of her generation. 💫

💬 Have you ever watched Call My Agent!? Tell me what you think in the comments! 👇

👟 Wednesday's expression: "Casser les pieds"

No, no one's going to get hurt! 😄

"Casser les pieds à quelqu'un" (literally "break someone's feet") = to annoy, to bother someone

📝 Examples:

"You're annoying me with your questions!"
"This noise is getting on my nerves..."

⚠️ Language level: Informal but very common!

🎯 Stronger variation: "Casser les bonbons" (even more informal!)

What person or thing is annoying you right now? 😅

🎬 Dear students! 🇫🇷

Let me introduce you to “Bienvenue chez les Ch’tis” (Welcome to the Sticks) (2008)!

A post office manager is transferred to northern France and discovers that the locals aren’t as terrible as he feared - quite the opposite! It’s hilarious and heartwarming.

Why do I recommend it?
∙ You’ll learn about French regional differences and accents
∙ The humor is accessible and contagious
∙ It teaches us not to judge before we know
∙ It’s one of the biggest box office hits in French cinema!

My advice: Don’t worry if the Ch’ti accent seems difficult at first - that’s part of the joke! The main dialogue is in standard French.

Ready for a good laugh? 😄
