Spring is in the air up here in the mountains and summer is again on it's way...
If you are looking for a relaxing place for the summer far from this hectic world, than you might want to consider spending some time up here in the Pyrenees at The River Mountain House - La Maison entre deux rivières, Nohèdes, France or at The Mountain Village House.

Why here?
Well, we are at 1.000 meters altitude which means not so hot and humid temperatures.
Our location ensures cool nights so you sleep so much more comfortable.
The house is between two rivers so you will always have the sound of the waterfalls.
We have a natural swimming pool in the river, so no worries about water restrictions and empty swimming pools!
We have 4 lakes at hiking distance from the house.
And yes, we are, as people say, at the end of the world, but then in the same sentence they also call this "a little paradise at the end of the world, away from it all"
And if you want to do something else, the beaches are only a bit over an hours drive, there are several canyoning opportunities, great fortifications to visit, a trip on the famous Le Petit Train Jaune, the challenging hanging bridges at the Gorge de Carança, a warm bath at the Bains de Saint Thomas, or enjoying the classical concerts at the Festival de Pablo de Casals in Prades.
But of course you can also just sit in the garden reading a book and having a feeling of Zen...... And walking to the village restaurant for dinner in the evening.

Clearly there is always plenty to enjoy!

And one more great thing, because of the fast flowing water streams we hardly have any mosquitoes here at the River Mountain House

The Mountain Village House in Nohèdes has been fully renovated in 2020-2021. This holiday home has a large open living room and kitchen with fabulous views overlooking the mountains. It has two comfortable bedrooms and a truly royal bathroom!

We went for a nice full day hike from the River Mountain House to the lakes of Nohèdes. Definitely worth the effort!
