New Yorkers, you may have walked past her work.

Elizabeth Allison teaches Expressive Watercolor at the Art Students League of New York, where she also studied. In 2011, her sculpture "River Gazers", two figures sitting on a bench facing the Hudson, was installed in Riverside Park South, and the New York Times wrote about it.

Today she's known for large, atmospheric watercolors, built up in soft, misty layers. Last month, she led our painting retreat in Pézenas, in the South of France.

Next spring, she brings that expressive approach to the Catalan coast: Barcelona's Art Nouveau, the fishing village of Calella de Palafrugell, medieval Besalú, and the sea light of Sitges, where the group stays. A small group, all levels welcome, and guided outings for partners.

A day on a painting retreat ☀️🎨🍷

Fresh croissants to start. Easels in a château garden. A demo from your teacher, then hours to paint at your own pace. And a long lunch together, where everyone shares what they painted that morning.

No rushing, no luggage to pack every day, and partners who don't paint are always welcome at the table.
