“WHERE TO EAT NEAR LOUVRE?”
I get asked this on every private Paris tour.
3 options to Save (all 5 minutes away)
*CAFÉ VERLET*
Family-roasted coffee since 1880.
The croque monsieur is better than 90% of Paris bistros.
Get there before 12:30 or you’re waiting. (MORNING LOUVRE TOUR +++)
Worth the wait. CLOSED ON MONDAY
*ANGELINA*
Yes, it’s famous.
Yes, tourists go there.
Yes, YOU SHOULD STILL GO.
The hot chocolate isn’t hot chocolate: it’s melted Valrhona in a cup.( 1 CUP FOR 2 IS ENOUGH)
The Mont Blanc has been on the menu since 1903 for a reason.
Skip the line: TAKE AWAY EAT in the Tuileries
*LE GRAND COLBERT* 🍷
Classic brasserie in an 1826 covered passage.
Belle Époque tiles, mirrored walls, traditional French menu.
Steak frites. Profiteroles. Simple bistrot dishes. Great cheese platter.
Fair warning: I’ve seen reviews about “rude waiters requiring tips”
Here’s the truth : Parisian service is wildly inconsistent. ( we do what we can, I have been there)
Same restaurant, same waiter, different day = completely different experience.
The food? Always decent, you pay for the walls as much for the food.
On the best private tours, you don’t just see Paris.
