The one thing you CANNOT miss when visiting Versailles with kids 🏰✨

The Gardens

The Gardens of Versailles are so vast and breathtaking that you simply cannot stand in one spot and take it all in you have to explore every single corner!

Here are some tips👇

🌿 Let the kids run free, after being inside the palace they’ll absolutely love the open space!

🏛️ The Orangerie Greenhouse we’re talking a rooftop view that will blow your mind,
and a greenhouse so enormous it stores over 400 trees every single winter 🌳

🗿 Follow the sculptures, nothing in these gardens is random! Two angels perched on sphinxes to guide your path through the gardens one points where to go, one tells you where NOT to go 😄

✨ Don’t miss the Statue of Latona, mother of Apollo and Diana, one of the most beautiful pieces right at the entrance

🇫🇷 Bonus tip:Versailles is just 40 minutes from Paris by RER C train the perfect day trip from the city!

WHERE TO TAKE A COFFEE IN PARIS ? DAY 1

The most Parisian thing you can do for just 2-3€ 🥐✨
Sit at a café terrace, watch the world go by, and bite into the most perfect little cream puff 😍

Odette is one of my favourite spots for this
their cream puffs come in different flavours and every single one is just one bite of pure pleasure🤍

Sweet. Flavorful. Unforgettable.

HOW TO STORE CHAMPAGNE LIKE A LOCAL?
Rules You Need to Know

Think storing champagne is simple? Think again. 🍾
There are 3 golden rules the locals swear by and most people get at least one of them wrong.

1️⃣ ALWAYS STORE BOTTLES LAYING DOWN
This isn’t just tradition it’s science.
Keeping your champagne bottle horizontal prevents oxidation and loss of gas.
The moment you store it upright, the cork dries out, the bubbles start disappearing, and the taste gets bad.

2️⃣ USE NO UV LIGHTING LAMP BULBS
Bright light is champagne’s worst enemy.
Always store your bottles under low UV lighting like orange or yellow lights.
Exposure to strong light causes what the French call “goût de lumière”which gives your champagne an unpleasant cauliflower taste.🥦
Yes, really.

3️⃣ KEEP A CONSTANT TEMPERATURE
Fluctuating temperatures ruin champagne.
The perfect storage temperature is 12°C (53°F) consistently.
Not sometimes. Not approximately. Always.

BONUS : Champagne that has already been shipped away from the estate is ready and won’t age positively in most cases (if ever), a regular non-vintage champagen can usually be kept 3 to 4 years, and a vintage 5 to 10 in the right conditions.

🚇 WHICH PASS TO BUY WHEN USING THE PARIS METRO?

This is the question every tourist gets wrong and it ends up costing them time and money.

Here’s the full breakdown 👇

🎫 WHICH TICKET SHOULD YOU BUY?

There are two cards you need to know about:

→ Navigo Découverte the cheapest weekly pass available
But here’s the catch:
- You need to find a service kiosk (not every station has one)
- You need a printed photo with you
- Worth the effort if you’re staying a full week

→ Navigo Easy the faster, simpler option
- Available at any vending machine
- No photo needed
- Single tickets are the same price as Navigo Découverte
- Day passes are more expensive than the weekly Navigo Découverte
- Perfect if you want to get moving quickly without the hassle

💡 Bottom line:
Staying a full week and using transport a lot? → Get Navigo Découverte
Short stay or want zero hassle? → Get Navigo Easy

📲 TRAVELLING AS AN ADULT ONLY?

Skip the physical cards entirely.

Download the Bonjour RATP app and manage everything directly from your phone. Tickets, passes, journey planning all in one place.

👨‍👩‍👧 TRAVELLING WITH KIDS?

🟢 Under 4 years old completely free, no pass needed
🟡 4 to 11 years old reduced fare, but they do need a card

⚠️ STROLLER OR WHEELCHAIR?

Most Metro stations have no escalators and no elevators.

👉 Use the bus instead there’s a ramp button right at the door for easy boarding.

FOR EASY NAVIGATION
before you go anywhere download Citymapper. Metro, bus, Uber, taxi it compares everything in real time so you always know the fastest way to get there.

Save this before your Paris trip you’ll thank yourself later 🙏

How 1 decision can influence the tide of war ?

The decision that saved hundreds of American lives
We’re standing on a German bunker right in the middle of the Utah Beach defences.
This is the exact spot where American troops were supposed to land on June 6, 1944.
But bad weather changed everything.

The first wave landed 2 miles south of their intended position.
Orders were clear go back. Start the invasion from the original landing zone.

But one man saw it differently.
Brigadier General Theodore Roosevelt Jr. son of President Theodore Roosevelt quickly analysed the situation and noticed something the orders hadn’t accounted for:

The German defences where they had accidentally landed were far weaker than what was waiting for them 2 miles away.

So he made a call nobody expected.

“We will start the war from here”

And because of that one decision, the first wave of American troops were able to make tactical use of chaos. This lead to the military success of the operations at Utah beach.

Hundreds of lives. One man. One call. 🇺🇸

⚠️ IS PARIS HAVING A HEATWAVE?

If you’re in Paris right now, SAVE THIS.
If you know someone visiting, SEND THIS

What’s inside:
→ How to sleep without air-con?
→ 1,200+ places to refill water for free ( first comment )
→ Dehydration warning signs (and when to call 112)
→ Where to buy electrolytes and UV umbrellas
→ DIY cooling hacks that actually work

I’ve been guiding families through Paris for 10 years.
Heatwaves are becoming serious.
Foreign visitors underestimate them every single time.

You’re walking 15,000+ steps a day.
In direct sun.
Carrying bags.
With jetlagged kids.

That’s a recipe for heat exhaustion if you’re not prepared.

🚨 EMERGENCY NUMBER: 112
