“WHERE TO EAT NEAR LOUVRE?”
I get asked this on every private Paris tour.

3 options to Save (all 5 minutes away)

*CAFÉ VERLET*
Family-roasted coffee since 1880.
The croque monsieur is better than 90% of Paris bistros.
Get there before 12:30 or you’re waiting. (MORNING LOUVRE TOUR +++)
Worth the wait. CLOSED ON MONDAY

*ANGELINA*
Yes, it’s famous.
Yes, tourists go there.
Yes, YOU SHOULD STILL GO.

The hot chocolate isn’t hot chocolate: it’s melted Valrhona in a cup.( 1 CUP FOR 2 IS ENOUGH)
The Mont Blanc has been on the menu since 1903 for a reason.
Skip the line: TAKE AWAY EAT in the Tuileries

*LE GRAND COLBERT* 🍷
Classic brasserie in an 1826 covered passage.
Belle Époque tiles, mirrored walls, traditional French menu.
Steak frites. Profiteroles. Simple bistrot dishes. Great cheese platter.

Fair warning: I’ve seen reviews about “rude waiters requiring tips”
Here’s the truth : Parisian service is wildly inconsistent. ( we do what we can, I have been there)
Same restaurant, same waiter, different day = completely different experience.
The food? Always decent, you pay for the walls as much for the food.

On the best private tours, you don’t just see Paris.

Meet your Louvre private tour guide

I’m Sylvanie, and I lead Paris private tours for Paris and Beyond Tours.

But here’s what a typical day ACTUALLY looks like:

📍 Palais Royal gardens (where Parisians actually hang out)

📍 Galerie Vero-Dodat - stunning 19th-century passage

📍 Emily in Paris - the entrance of her office !

📍 for lunch - best Italian restaurant for families near the Louvre. Their pizza is unreal.

This is what I love about leading Louvre private tours:
It’s not just the museum. It’s the neighborhood. It’s the stories. It’s the pizza. 😄

Paris and Beyond Tours = Paris beyond the guidebook.

THE 2 INSIGHTS THAT CHANGE YOUR ENTIRE TRIP

The pattern is ALWAYS the same:
“Difficult” kid = sleep debt + sugar crash + walking long distance

« Engaged” kid = solid foundation
Same museum. Same guide. Different preparation.

There are great resources out there!

Here are my 2 go-tos for Sleep and Food that I share with every family:

🛌 (Stanford sleep scientist): Her research with elite athletes showed sleep extension BEFORE high-performance events = better outcomes.
Same principle for your Paris trip: Add 30 min to bedtime 1-2 weeks before travel. You can’t recover sleep debt in one night.

🍎 : That 8am croissant? Blood sugar spike → 9:30am crash → “I’m bored”
Same principle for your Paris mornings: Protein first (eggs, yogurt, cheese) on tour days. Save pastries for after, or pair with protein. Stable blood sugar = stable focus.

I share this framework with every family.
Not because I want to be a sleep coach. But because I want to save you the time and research.

You prep the body. I’ll transform the experience.
Together? Magic.

“Mom, not another museum.” 😮‍💨

Here’s what Parisian families actually do with their kids:

They skip the gift shops.
They make the gifts instead.
🧵 TRICOTTE MOI UN TATOO
Kids print custom patches onto ANY fabric
Backpacks, jackets, their favorite t-shirt = instant upgrade
Way cooler than a refrigerator magnet
👜 BAG-ALL
Pick your bag, personalize it with your kid’s name, a Paris memory
They leave with something uniquely theirs
( you have to pay the bag and the print )you can purchase cheaper bags from the mistakes they did previously.( not uniquely Paris, but also NY)
🪨 STONE CUTTING + NOTRE-DAME TOUR (Paris and Beyond tours )
Your kids learn medieval stone carving techniques
They use real tools (totally supervised)
They leave with something they made with their own hands

These are REAL workshops.

Age range: 6-16 (but honestly, parents love them too)

Your kids won’t remember another museum painting.
They WILL remember the stone they carved themselves.

Which experience is going on your Paris itinerary?

Love locks? Cute idea… but not exactly a local favourite 🔐
Meet Anya she’s lived in Paris for half her life and has been guiding for 10+ years

💬 The questions she gets all the time:

Is there a quiet spot near Notre Dame Cathedral? Yes and it’s right next to it 🌿
Is Louvre or Palace of Versailles… overwhelming? Definitely. Still worth it? 100%.
Day trip to Versailles? If you want to see how far luxury can go… don’t skip it 👑

But here’s what most people miss:

It’s not just about what you see
it’s about how you experience it.

Slow mornings. Local spots.
Getting a little lost in the Latin Quarter.
See the city through someone else’s eyes
… and falling in love with it again, again and again

Tourist checklist or local experience what are you choosing? 👇
