Have you ever wondered about the heart-shaped cheese called Coeur de Neufchatel that you see at every market, and in every fromagerie in France? It’s the oldest Normandy cheese, the first mention of it dates back almost 1000 years to 1035 but it’s probably much older than that. Legend has it this creamy cows cheese got its shape in the 14th century when young Norman girls gave the cheese to English soldiers as a token of affection! ❤️
